2018 1500 Adding Home-Link

I am trying to find the correct part # for adding the Home-Link system to my 2018 1500...Is it part number 84391067? I have tried searching the forums put can't get an exact answer, some are saying its a little different than factory, they have extra wires, etc. Has anyone done a swap for 2018 1500?

If I remember right it is it own unit. Meaning all it needs is power and ground and it works. Nothing more then a universal door opener that is hard wires in. So I would just buy the overhead console that has it and see if the pins get power and be done. If they dont this is still power up there so tap and get it.

Looks like according to this thread that part number is the updated “updated” 018 one.

I believe the only difference is the 018s have the larger sunglasses holder. This one is for a non sunroof non rear slider truck so as long as you’re truck doesn’t have a sunroof or rear slider your good to go.

I did this the hard way on my 015 LT bought the homelink pieces separate and add them to my OE console. If the harness is the same as mine you’ll have “extra plugs” in the harness that go nowhere. I believe these are for the sunroof and slider I just tucked them up out the way.

There is several videos on YouTube on how to remove and replace the console and how to move  your airbag light to the new one.

Another option you have is to buy an aftermarket homelink module and install it yourself. I did this on my Chevy Colorado (previous truck to my Silverado) and it worked perfectly. You just have to find a place to install it, find a power and a ground wire, and cut a hole using the supplied template. I installed my homelink in the roof console in the Colorado...some folks install it into the headliner, others into the sunvisor.

The module I used is the GenTex 60HMLKV5, which you can find on ebay or other electronics sites.

I did this in my 2018.  Ordered 84391067 and it swapped with the OE one perfectly, plug and play.

Watch videos online on how to remove the old one first, it does not come out the way you think it will once you start on it.

I did this on my 2016 silverado and used part number 84083245. I think that the part number I used is now discontinued though. Gm likes to change the part numbers on some things. The part numbers also depend if you have a sliding rear window and a sunroof which I have neither. If you have either of those it will be a different part number as there are more switches on the overhead console. I believe the colors also have a different part number. I wouldn't think that this swap would be much different from a 2016 to a 2018.

I didn't even know homelink wasn't standard. You would think that would be by now.

You'd think it would be. It was part of the LT PLUS package on my 2017.. package also included sliding rear window and adjustable pedals.
