Mixing Mobil 1 Oils together a bad idea?

Not another "Which Oil" thread.

I do my own changes around 6k-7k miles with Mobil 1 filter and usually go with what Mobil 1 is on sale/deal at the time.

Can i mix 2qt of 0W-20 extended performance with 5qt of Mobil 1 0W-20 Advance fuel economy + 1Qt of Advance fuel economy i have left over to get 8Qt for my next change?

I would never mix different brands or weights but wasnt sure about same brand and weight with different "platforms"?

I have mixed the same brand oil and weight.

Used left over dino oil to replace burned off semi syn and vise-versa.

Have mixed them for oil changes also.

My short 3 K mile changes may be a benefit doing this.

Don't forget to do the Mobil 1 rebates if that's what you use, makes your oil changes even cheaper.

What rebates we talking about? Got any more info?

Mixing isn't an issue with the same brand oil like what you are doing.

Even mixing the same brand with like a qt of 0w-20 and maybe a 5qt container of 5w-30 isn't going to cause any problems.

Looks like Ozer supplied you with links already. But for me I used to wait for the 5 gallon buckets of Delvac 15w-40 to go on sale at Autozone. I'd then buy two and submit the rebates for them. After sale price and rebates I was almost getting 5 gallons of oil free, especially since they upped the rebate to $35 for a 5 gallon bucket.

Very nice!!! I gotta remember this. Thanks

This rebate program runs about the same time every year. In a week or two you will start seeing auto part stores do similar rebates but i usually do amazon or walmart since they are the first ones to start the sale.
