Has anyone installed auxiliary reverse lights on their 19 yet? I usually wire some pods to the trailer wiring but I would like to utilize the cargo lamp button, not sure if this is possible so any input is greatly appreciated.

All I will say is it would be best if you set it off a relay to a seperate power. You can wire up a relay or buy a rewired on or even buy a relay power harness. But so many wires and circuits are monitored by the bcm. And throw soft codes.

LEDS draw such low amps, and I yes the BCM is finicky , but i wired back up LEDS and additional bed lighting, into the respective lamps direct... No issues...

I'm not 100% sure there is a problem on that circuit but my dome light wire I tapped into for floor mat lights and there is a soft code in the record. Also in my report was subwoofer open and light sensor high voltage.
These are soft codes they do not set of the dash light. But when all the codes are pulled you can see it listed.

Agreed there maybe hidden soft codes, but they don't affect vehicle operation...
You are absolutely right. I didn't even know I had them till I read the 2 page report of soft codes.

I did what you are describing on my 2015. Used the cargo light circuit to power two KC Cyclone led lights. No issues with it, I'm very happy with the results. If it worked on the K2, why wouldn't it work on a T1?

Thanks guys, I will most likely be adding rigid ignite diffused reverse lights under the rear bumper. I believe they draw under 1 amp.

Does anyone know the wire color of the 7 pin reverse/auxillary? It appears green with white stripe, black and a red with green stripe come from the center of the rear on harness.

Reverse on my truck is green with white tracer being a Z85 trailering package. Unfortunately this was not a good power source for auxiliary lighting because the truck has to sense(electrically) a trailer in tow to work. Next step I tied into the blue positive / black negative on the cargo lamps. This would allow the aux lights to flash 3 times then shut off all cargo lamps. My little project is much harder on this new truck then the last ones I have had.

If you are wiring in additional reverse lamps , pull the talilamp assembly and tie into the reverse feed there.  Thats what I did. No issues..

Share the details, I was intending to have a switch in factory location...obviously out of luck so far. I removed tails to tie into cargo but ran out of time. What color is reverse on the tails? TIA

Please comment on how those work.  Are they pretty bright?  Do they light up the driveway (about 20 feet across) when you’re backing up?  Any other pros or cons in the choice of lamp?  Thanks.

I don't recall the wire color. Use a multi meter / test prob while someone places truck in reverse...

They actually suck... I wanted the slim line for a clean install, but they don't put out the light... I'm going to eventually replace with the 2" flush mount cubes in the bumper... Just haven't gotten around to it yet...  Something like these.  https://www.amazon.com/Rough-Country-Square-Lights-70803BLKDRLA/dp/B07KYTX6MS   Clear not amber like listed
