White strips of plastic on back of cab

Does anyone else with a crew cab truck know what the purpose of these strips of white plastic is?  

 

They are located on the back of each cab corner between the cab and bed.  My guess is they were to protect the cab when the bed was placed on the frame?  

 

They are starting to curl and peel off.  There is nothing under them but paint and nasty, sticky adhesive.

I have a DC and mine are doing the same thing.  Not sure it matters which cab you have.

It's a rubber gasket designed to reduce drag and wind noise between the bed-cab.  The white part you see is the foam tape designed to hold it to the back of the cab.

Looked at mine, didn’t find anything like that, found rubber seals on both sides apparently assisting in the flow like air dam

What are these pieces called? Mine were so bad off I just pulled them off but would like them replaced

Mine are peeling worse than that since day 1.  Showed dealer and they said they could fix but would have to pull bed. I declined. 
 

Besides looking like they will fall off mine are still there 5 years later

driver side is worse than passenger

They're keeping the rubber seal from wearing through the paint. Mine curled before I bought it. Still in place doing their job.
