If you allowed a truck to be in shop for 43 days and didn’t call the BBB , then you should also blame yourself.  No disrespect in anyway to you but your doing your money a disservice.

Also do your research all trucks have issues. My 14 Sierra was a lemon( got every dime including my down back ) my 16 Sierra had many issues and my 19 has already leaked head liner and had a few electrical issues.

Lemon law suit is pending.  Close to a settlement for cash, where I keep the truck so I'm just going to trade it.  BBB is basically useless.  It took lawyers to get it done.  One stretch was 27 days because of a cracked rear window frame and it took that long to get the new rear cab window.

2019 RAM to a 2019 GM?  Methinks you're going to end up with a 'horrible manufacturer experience'.  IMO, don't do it.

Stay outta the early builds (at least anything built in 2018, but the newer the better either way) and you’ll be fine. Build date is on a sticker in the door jamb.

1) The truck I want was made in Mexico.  It this a problem?  It seems that most of the SLT's in my area are from Mexico for some reason.
2) The 3.23 rear end...how come GM trucks have such a low ratio, while the preferred with a Ford with a V8 seems to be a 3.73?
3) X-31 or not?  I'm looking at a Cardinal Red Premium Plus with X-31 and Sunroof.  I like the X31 because of the dual exhaust.
4) Will I hate the 5.3L V8 coming from a Ram 1500 with a 5.7L Hemi?  I'm trading my 2019 RAM 1500 for this (don't ask...horrible dealer experience)

My truck was made in Mexico, not happy with it, almost 2 years later and it’s been fantastic. The 6.2 will make you want to keep it much longer, love mine but don’t buy it later putting cheap fuel in it, prefers super or you can actually damage the engine. The 5.3 hasn’t changed, still same performance but you’ll have a lighter truck only if you buy the upgraded SLT or Denali with that carbon bed.

Completely depends on your expectations, the 5.3 is fine for everyday driving but you’ll definitely get much more smiles per miles with the 6.2, at a greater cost at purchase and fuel. I heard the 2021’s will be a bit redesigned. Typical, always happens a couple years after introducing a new body style.

The truck I’m looking at was built in July 2019 (in Mexico).

You’re good then. Safe from leaking windows, loose shifter and the front end noise someone already mentioned in this thread.

Most of the issues are on US built trucks, because all of the early ones were built here. Nothing to do with where they were made, just when they were made.

I’d trade mine for a later built Mexican one in a heartbeat right now. Love the truck but the window leak was/is a major buzzkill. To their credit, they are handling it better than what happened to your Ram at least...

This doesn’t seem to be occurring on later build dates.

Someone on the jingle jingle thread claims to have a truck with the jingle jingle noise with 6/19 build date.

Depends on taste and what you want out of a truck. I looked at the new rams and while the interior is nice it is way too busy and fancy for what i need or want out of my truck. I like a little more simplicity.

I see your point there. One thing steered me away from Ram aside from the price is the shifter knob.

Mine was built in Mexico. And my shifter wobble. But I am used to it now just focusing on the road ?

I have a 2019 SLT. Made in Mexico with a build date of Jan 2019. Not one issue. I also came from a 2019 Ram with a TON of issues. 5K on this GMC and have been nothing but happy. I also liked the Rams interior but this GM is laid out well and now that I’m used to it, it feels familiar if that makes any sense.

What was wrong with your 2019 RAM? Any regrets about going from the Hemi to a 5.3? I’m also looking at an F-150 Ecoboost so not sure what to get.

purchased my 5.3 SLT in late March, built in Mexico in early March,  love the truck, no major issues so far,  9242 miles, 21mpg average.    If I had to complain about anything it would be the hard plastic used on some of the interior pieces is easily scuffed and difficult to get the those scuff marks out

Several things. Windshield leaks, entire radio cluster replaced, bad fuel pump from factory, new radio quit adjusting volume, ANC system pumped noise INTO the cab, steering wheel loose, rear back up system would lock up in rain, A/C issues, engine lights,.....etc. I honestly feel like the 5.3 is a little quicker. The Ram made lots of drama to get up to speed and sounded cool but the 5.3 does a great job. I dont ever say "man I still wish I had that HEMI". I also had the F150 Platinum 3.5 Eco Boost in a long term loaner for my work vehicle. Of all of the engine/trans combos, I thought that one was the best. I could not get over the F150 having visible tooling marks on some of the interior pieces (at least in my loaner). They have their issues as well. Coming from the Ram, you will notice that the seats are more firm in the GMC. At first, I thought it was uncomfortable. But, after a couple of trips, I have found that they are more supportive and I actually like them better. The leather is a higher quality in the GMC also. Overall, I dont think you would regret the GMC. I certainly dont.

I just bought mine from Laura 2 weeks ago with all the options and color you listed plus the 6.2. They are great to deal with and will pick you up from the airport.IMG_6196.JPG.52c606ac733086bd6a56dc1c0442d1ac.JPG

    • I Wouldn't Know Where to Begin    Oh I know where I would begin but I'm just one of over eight billion people on this rock. Eight billion versions of where the goal post is. How large it should be. How far to kick from. What ball is the right ball. Elevation. Age.....are you getting the point? It isn't about disagreeing with one individual. It's about agreeing only with one individual. One's self.   Agreement comes when multiple people hold the same point already. THAT is the goal of an education. Building the Social Contract. That thing that allows us to all read this sentence. We've agreed on the alphabet and how to arrange those letters into words we agree upon whose meanings hold true for everyone entering into that contract. Those words arranged into a sentence form an idea and several sentences strung together in a paragraph convey an argument for or against or inform the reader of a state, condition or perhaps reveal a things nature. Paint a word picture. Make oneself known.    This contract is not limited to words although they are often explained by words. Things like numbers and their usefulness. Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Music, Art and so on.    The frequency of middle C (C4) is 261.63 Hz. We build on that to make music we all can enjoy even if we all can not compose or play. You don't have to master it to make it enjoyable and useful.    So why is the Beginning so difficult? Why is agreement so elusive?   Everyone "Signs" the contract (when receiving that education in obtaining it)  but fewer and fewer in this world have any intention of living by that contract. They find exploiting that contract more advantageous. Disruption. With intent. Without intent. In Ignorance. In your face. With a double dog dare you. With a hold my beer. In resistance to that contract and in spite how it looks on us. It permeates the very air we breath.    In this way the contract is subject o advantage. Abide by it when it serves you, disregard it when it doesn't. Unpredictable and self-serving. Corrosive.....Toxic........   It says a lot about a persons character to disregard the contract, the truth, first principles. None of it good.        ********************************************************   https://medicine.yale.edu/news-article/character-vs-personality-who-we-are-and-who-we-aspire-to-be/   Just an interesting article.
    • It costs $5,250 for the Yukon Nightfall option (black wheels, emblems and illuminated black GMC grill badge). What a "deal".
    • I keep getting the above error message on my 25 Sierra.  If I reset the infotainment unit (via the phone hang up button) it will work again for a day or 2.   But I dont want to do have to reset  all the time. Works fine in my 2023 Corvette. On both vehicles I connect wirelessly.   I have a Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, phone is up to date.  Any Ideas.  See attached
    • LOL, its thrown a few people because this item is being talked about in the gas part of the HD forum. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to put a very brief wording in your profile with the year/GM or Chev/2500 or 3500/ and yes the 6.6 Duramax. When I joined this forum I could see the confusion ensuing for my own truck unless I had it listed with my chosen name handle unless one has a few vehicles that apply to a GM forum as that becomes confusing as well. Anyway its all good, makes for a little forum excitement 😉
    • Gasgacinch, James Gaskets. Good stuff. High tac to help hold the gasket in place while assembling parts. Fills minor surface imperfections. Slightly elastic. Gasoline / coolant / oil proof. Very handy stuff. Nothing like RTV.
