SilveradoLD Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 I recently purchased a 2019 Silverado LD and was wanting to add fog lights to it but can’t find anything. So was wondering if 2018 parts would still fit it?
HeySkippyDog Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 Yes, your LD is really no different from the 2014-2018 trucks. You'll need the bumper with cutouts, the harness, and the switch to turn them on. You'll need 2016+ parts because they updated the front clip that year. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J727A using Tapatalk
SilveradoLD Posted September 18, 2019 Author Posted September 18, 2019 Sorry if I sound ignorant here, so I would just to get 2016+ Parts and it should fit up perfectly?
HeySkippyDog Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 Exactly, in regards to adding fog lights to your truck. 2016-2018 parts will work. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J727A using Tapatalk
HeySkippyDog Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 I would also ditch the hideous wheels they stuck on the LD. The 18" LT wheel is so much better looking in my opinion. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J727A using Tapatalk
SilveradoLD Posted September 18, 2019 Author Posted September 18, 2019 Would you know about if the 2018 leveling kit would work as well? And yeah I feel you on that but I’m going to get a new wheel set up soon
HeySkippyDog Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 Would you know about if the 2018 leveling kit would work as well? And yeah I feel you on that but I’m going to get a new wheel set up soon Absolutely. Your 2019 LD pickup is only an overrun of 2014-2018 parts that GM wanted to make money on. They did the same thing in 1998, the GMT800s were rolling off the line but for 10 whole years they were making GMT400 pickups. They sold GMT400s for at least an additional 2 years beyond 1998, labeled "Silverado Classic".Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J727A using Tapatalk
HeySkippyDog Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 In fact, if you want to level your truck, get the Bilstein 5100s and set the snap ring to the top. If you're doing it yourself, here's how.A lengthened strut assembly won't just hop back in easy. Take one of your two strut compressors and run it down on the outer side of the spring, so you can get the lower part of the strut to sit on the lower control arm. Run the bolts in, and release that compressor clamp. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J727A using Tapatalk
HeySkippyDog Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 If you level it, you'll need a realignment. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J727A using Tapatalk
SilveradoLD Posted September 18, 2019 Author Posted September 18, 2019 I was looking it that actually but it would say it was not compatible with my 2019 model so I’ve been looking at other ways. But now that I know that it’s the same things I can search for more things now.Would you know how much it would level it out too?
HeySkippyDog Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 Without putting blocks under your rear axle, your front end has to come up about 2" to level the truck. Now, bear in mind that if you plan to use it to tow anything close to its capacity, you need to leave it with the rake. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J727A using Tapatalk
mistermcgoo Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 I was thinking about adding fogs to my 2018 LT as well, but not sure how much it will run after all is said and done.. I'm assuming it wouldn't be cheap
mistermcgoo Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 Just did a bit of shopping around and I can't seem to find any oem fog light harness'. Does anyone know where to pick one up? I'd rather not pay stealership prices if at all possible..

silverado2k18 Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Will this also work with a 2018 Silverado Custom? I've been told, its not that easy to add fog lights to this model....different wiring harness installed in my truck???
