2019 TB grill mod

So I've seen guys wondering about adding color behind the chevrolet grill , I did this mod for mine, had a piece aluminum trim for house laying around, was already the right width, cut it to length painted it rustoleum cherry gloss paint snapped it back together and here it is feedback and ?'s  welcome.

great job on this. aluminum fascia holds up to pretty darn tough weather as well.. moisture/salt/etc.

 

Not to be negative, just more for awareness to the multitudes of users that plan to do this, but it will block some airflow to the rad. Very minimal amount but the chevrolet is perforated.

I would say it is comparable to adding a light bar out there for reduction in air - negligible.

Well I just cut it to fit and there are a lot of clips and 2 7mm screws that hold it in place, just sandwiched in between the 2 once I separated them thin aluminum flashing would better

Thanks for this post. I went out yesterday and got a $10 roll of aluminum flashing, cut it to size, painted and installed it on my Trail Boss.

 

I think it looks great, I never would have thought to do it without your post.

Did you have to remove the entire grille for the install? What brand and color of paint and do you need to use primer or anything?  Thanks

I did remove the entire grille. Takes less than 10 minutes to remove. It was a little tricky to remove the gloss black piece from the grille, just due to the number of clips. 

 

I used the same paint as rowdydog, Rust-Oleum Cherry Gloss. I did not prime the aluminum flashing but I did de-grease and sand it so the paint would adhere properly. I cut the aluminum flashing down to 47" x 2 7/8" using tin snips. Seemed to be the perfect size.

 yes yours probably fit better with the thinner flashing but I don't think mine will ever come out and it looks just like mine so good job 4 less than 20 bucks we got a little added zing to the front end of the truck

Those 2  7mm screws will definitely keep it from coming loose.

Nice job. I ave the same color, thinking about doing a dark grey - similar to the color in the TB logo

will do, waiting on some light pods to come in before I start tearing anything apart
