Transmission problems

Driving along and truck would not shift higher than 2nd gear. Really frustrating.  Seen a bunch of info regarding TCM causing limp mode. Were is the TCM and will it fix my problem.  2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 ext. Cab 5.3 L

Get it scanned,by a good scanner,you need to get passed the (p) codes, probably

Got it scanned got: U1041 plus other evap codes which truck had since the beginning

Does the 04 even have limp mode?

Do you happen to know were the tcm is located on this truck? I am not a mechanic and would just like to try and replace it.

Not sure but every time I search the symptoms it brings me to similar issues

Rebuild time. Typically a sign that the 3-4 clutches are gone.

04 does not have a separate TCM. It is all handled by the PCM. Take it to a trans shop for diagnosis. Strong possibility as noted above, it may be toast

I'm searching the u0141,it's ebcm ground, usually,the one under drivers door

Guess that means you completed diag and verified the ground cable was not an issue in relation to the TSB.
