no, the blunt cut wires hang out behind the dash panel.  nice and easy!
Oh that's not much good I was expecting there was a terminal block underneath the hood for wiring in the accessories

The Ford and Chrysler axillary switch panels has switches in the truck and a fuse block panel to wire all your accessories underneath the hood so you don't have to run wire through your firewall

yea under the hood probably would have been better, but its really not a big deal.  theres a nice grommet under the drivers side floor mat/carpet where the parking break cable goes through that you can use to run wires through, without having to go through the firewall.  then you can tuck the wires under the door sill so they are all hidden.  works good!

Anyone else having issues with getting to the GM Upfitter website?  I haven't been able to get it to load all day today.  Going to try and order all my parts this week, question though.  I dont see a ground wire anywhere, do you ground your accessories to the body or am I missing something?  Also, are these switches ignition or constant power?

I'm picking mine up today, I was hoping the pkg came with instructions,

If not the first page of this thread has preliminary instructions

I just realized that this is in the 1500 Forum and mine is a 2500, shouldn't have any issues but need new part numbers for the knee bolsters probably huh?

Yea you just ground to frame, I usually ground to wherever I’m mounting something. For the switched power there is a new fuse box you mount that has fuses for the switches. Depending on the location of the fuses, they can be either ignition switched or constant power. They are grouped switch 1 and 2 together and 3 and 4 so you could potentially have some stuff constant power and other stuff switched. Pretty slick!

Same part numbers I believe. Interiors are identical.

What was the part number for the package you ordered. I have to order parts all separate. I wanna see if it’s cheaper as a package. Thanks

I did the install myself. It took a couple hours of actual work time. Hardest part was the dash disassembly to install the new knee bolster. Which begins with center console disassembly and working your way back to the cluster and then lastly the bolster.
The only part I had to come up while the dash was torn apart were the mounting screws for the fuse block, which added to my over all time; and are not mentioned in any of the parts lists.

How did you remove the knee bolster. The gm upfitter website has been down for a couple of days so I can’t download the instructions. Do you have a copy of them by any chance or if you could tell me how you removed it. Thanks in advance.

Did the knee bolster come with the switch because I ordered the switch and the knee bolster.

Is there a special part number to get them together or order them separately?
