Hello all, I was wondering if anyone knew or has tried to purchase the usb/sd card hub and see if navigation will work on the IOR radio. I know you have to purchase the navigation card then have it flashed at the dealer but I am curious.

I don't know if the IOR system can be upgraded with just an SD card.

Check out this thread...

This thread states that only IOS radios can be upgraded to NAV.  Don't know if that's true or not.

I suspect that the IOR will not support / recognize the NAV software.

These guys may know:

I measured my screen and it is 8” not 7” like the IRO states in that thread. Maybe I do have a IOS radio but I do not have the SD slot. Really confused now lol.

Look inside your glovebox for your RPO codes and see what radio you have.

Post a pic of your RPO codes here if you want.  It's the "DNA" of how your truck was built.

The codes are on a decal in the glovebox, or at least should be.  I haven't checked with the 2019's yet.

2019s don't have RPO codes in the glovebox anymore.  It's on the door jamb and you need a QR reader.

Same RPO (IOR) is 7” or 8” depending on the trim level. On LT/RST the IOR is 8”. No card reader, no IOS.

I’ll bet the IOR is lacking some stuff behind the scenes, outside of the card reader, that would be needed to make it nav-capable.

There is a nav only upgrade for the ior  radio.. i think you replace the whole radio  and it cost around 800.00 . I think your best using Android Auto or  car play. the Maps are constantly updated and no  map upgrade fees.  OHH And its Free.... To pay that much just to  add navigation is not worth it.. ohh it might had sat radio as well if you do not have that.

I looked into it when i get my truck so the info available may be some different now...

I have navigation in my 2016 and I hardly ever use it.  I don't have navigation in my 2019 and I don't miss it.  For those few times I do need nav I just use Apple CarPlay.  It's actually a much better way to navigate.

Do you have info for this? Last I checked, which was back in August, I was told GM abandoned the upgrade program.

not specific i just seen the  upgrade kit listed on a gm parts website. There was information about the  parts required and so on. and it was actually in August or early October  last year. We bought our truck early August . might be gmparts.com or something like that.

So your thinking  is Probably correct.

Yes GM does not sell the NAV upgrade kit any more. They did away with it sometime last year. You can't use a used SD card either as they are locked to the VIN of the original vehicle they were installed on.
