I'm going to play hard ball with them. I can go to Laura in St. Louis and get 7k off a new truck almost any day. That's well worth my drive there.

Hopefully they play ball.

If not Laura in St. Louis sells customized trucks for a cheaper price.

We shall see.

How do you like yours so far? What salesman did you work with?

PM sent.

The new truck is great.  My 2018 was awesome too, but the 2020 has been better in every way.  Not a smidge of buyer's remorse on this one!

If you’re doing the Costco deal, it’s supplier pricing, at a minimum.  The dealer should produce the build sheet for the truck that will also show the supplier pricing.

On my truck, it was a little under $6k.  Combined with my myGMC rebate, it was a little under $7k.

There really shouldn’t be much haggling, unless you’re trying to get lower than supplier pricing, or trying for a better trade allowance.

Eventually, you’ll arrive at the best deal that can be made.  That’s when you need to ask yourself if the trip to St Louis/Laura is worth the difference.

Looks like you guys are doing it right on the negotiation. I get the GM family pricing and I picked up my 2020 AT4 HD Duramax for $68,500 with a sticker of just over $77k. About $8k. GM family pricing is usually just below supplier pricing.

I also walked them up to blue book private party very good on my trade in. Don’t let them make it up on the trade. Get a fair price!

Please fill us in on where you are purchasing trucks at that big of a discount

I usually see a discount like this when I purchase a fleet vehicle through GM. my 2020 AT4HD Duramax stickered at $79k. Fleet discount was almost $9.5k and $1k ABC cash rebate and a $1.5k up-fitter allowance. $10.5k off plus $1.5k in stuff!

you can get 10-12k off right now on 2019 2500 and maybe 3500. I know its 2 months after post but they do same deals every year.....kind of kicking myself for not waiting, I got 1500 with same discount but really wanted a 2500 even tho I don't totally need it, I knew this going in as well but its fine, love my truck and it does what I need.....2500 just gives me options if I ever need it, would be gas engine as well

Here in colorado the gas option would be a waste. Not only is it a fraction of the torque of the Duramax, we are already at a loss of 25% up here.
For me the gas is pretty much a joke, if my 1500 with the 6.2 at 425hp and 470tq with an 8 speed struggles to get up the pass, why would a 2500 that weighs several thousand pounds more with marginally better torque and a 6 speed going to do any better?
Just cause it has a higher cargo and tow capacity doesn’t mean it can tow up a hill any better.

yeah I don't live there, and I don't tow and I just don't like diesels ( sound and 10k pricetag)....but 2500 gives better payload and that's what I need a few times a year

    • I was the GM of a Lincoln Mercury dealership back in the 80's. The service lot was always full with "broken" ones. Plenty of transmissions, power windows and a/c repairs. The only one I'd consider owning would be the Marauder at this point and it certainly wouldn't be a daily driver.  My 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate is my "Lincoln Town Car" in my retirement. I want all the "stuff". Big infotainment screens, one touch power windows, Supercruise (I won't buy another vehicle without it), hands free pretty much everything. I'm going to swap my current truck for a 2027 Yukon Denali Ultimate so I can have the air suspension and surround vision recording along with all the other "stuff".
    • Yep mine is on backorder also.
    • The Denali Ultimate's grille is tinted, but the "regular' Denali has a bright chrome grille like the current models.
    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
