I would like a set also if possible.  This is awesome. Thanks

Absolutely! Message me directly and I can get you going. I should be able to have a set for you ready today even.

Would anyone be able to confirm if the refreshed 2022 models have the same size square(ish) frame holes as the 19-21?

Nothing changed on the frame, just front sheet metal and interior.

This has been pretty cool! I've sent out several sets of plugs. I hope they all work out great for everyone! I need to design plugs for the other holes for my truck at least. I'm also thinking about putting the square ones on ebay since that seems to be a place where owners go looking for such things. If they aren't available anywhere else It would be good to make sure other owners who want to prevent rust can get this fix. If I do I'll probably raise the price a little to compensate for the extra seller fees. but I'll still do 15 shipped to anyone on the forum who wants a set. I'm glad I happened upon this thread myself, I never knew this was a significant issue to begin with!

Yes! Big thanks to kodiakdenali for hooking me up with a set of the square plugs! They are REALLY snug and I had to hit with a rubber mallet to get on, but I don't think they're going anywhere. Now I gotta try to find something for the round ones now. I've looked on Amazon and I can't seem to find anything that will fit. The ones someone mentioned here on the first page of this string are too large and do not fit. There's one product, that might, I think the name was Prescott Plastics or something. Can anyone confirm those (slightly less than) 2" will fit? Or have an alternative? Also, there are smaller frame holes that are oblong, etc. What are guys using to plug those, or don't you worry about them since they aren't very large?

Thanks for the compliments! I'm glad they are working out for everyone.

I am going to design plugs for the other holes too, might as well right? I got distracted by some other priorities so I haven't finished them yet. Making them to save my own truck from rust but would definitely be willing to make them for others as well. The design is not quite done yet but here's what it looks like so far.

I added a little bevel to this one for easier alignment and it also features the same outer ring which I think looks nicer as it covers the outside of the cross member as well while also providing a perfect prying point in case they ever need to be removed for occasionally flushing the cross members to make sure they stay clean. I need to test fit prototype 2 to see how close I am to a final design. I also will make some for the oblong cross member up front but haven't started that one yet.

Would you be willing to email me the .stl file, or post your hard work on thingiverse?

hmm. well, as a big supporter of open source, I will think about this after a time.

I've been too occupied with other projects lately, I really need to finish this all up. I still have a new tester for the round piece I need to go install and see how it fits. its been sitting here for several days. life is too busy!

I dont want to steal kodiaks credit for coming up with the idea....but i just got a 3d printer and want to tinker and will try and post a .stl for these when i get a design that works well. Dont want to recreate the wheel but too cheap to pay for what i can maybe make.

**Please buy sets from Kodiak as I will not be making any to sell just for my own personal use. **

Kodiak...On a side note though maybe you could get a few $$ for .stl file alone privately for those who have printers but dont want to take the time to design.

    • Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?
    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
    • Just wanted to get a idea of how many of you still have problems with your radio cutting out during the first few minutes of driving, my 2024 GMC Sierra still does this after a little over 2 years of complaining to my dealer about it, and OTA updates no longer complete, the check for updates in settings is greyed out for the second time while trying to install a update, my dealer took about a week to play around with it the first time this happened, and somehow got the check for updates to work, even though it would always show system is up to date when I knew it wasn't, now again 1 month later its greyed out again when the OTA update N25-F163BU tried to install, which ironically is the update to help with reliability of future updates.
