I'm short and the seats don't go back very far anyway so generally I don't if I'm forced to fly.  I drive every chance I get and really only fly when I go to crappy freedom hating states like NJ where I'll probably be arrested just for having FL plates :)  What annoys me is when the person in front can't decide where they want their seat back to be or for some reason bounce off of it.  So I guess yeah recline of you want, if you didn't want to deal with that crap then you shouldn't have opted for the cattle seat option.

Never. If someone wants to it is their right I suppose but the people who slam it back without regard to what the person behind them is doing is rude as hell.

Bullshit. I recline then you recline and back it goes. If you want to be the one who doesnt, so be it. I need the room and its an option I am allowed with my payment. I get everything I pay for...

the only caveat here where it's a bit of an A-Hole thing is when you know the seat behind you is up against the rear bulkhead and they can't move back themselves.

While it’s certainly an option for someone since the option is there.  I wouldn’t necessarily call it someone’s right.  I think with everyone knowing there is hardly any room to begin with that it’s just common knowledge that it’s not cool to lean back. I don’t mind it if someone does it. I just readjust best I can.

now if someone in front or behind me asks me to close my window shade. We fighting.

If it was not proper, they would disable reclining on all seats.
