It is backlit. I don’t think that the battery is meant to be replaceable. The whole unit has to be replaced once the battery dies. Although where there’s a will, there’s a way. I’m sure it could be done.

$145 for a one time use product? DANG!

Hopefully it's got some kind of nuclear reactor/dilithium crystals in it that'll last forever!

I have this.  I know you can lock the fob inside the truck with it, which is what I wanted.

Not sure about keeping the truck running and wasn't even aware that the truck would shut itself off after some time.  I never let mine just idle for any amount of time.

It is a neat little device.  Dealer had to program it to the truck, then yes it just double-stick tapes wherever you want it on the truck.  It does seem a bit cheap and fragile so I do wonder about how long it will last, but so far so good.

Reviving this post, I just had the dealership install the Keyless Entry Keypad (KEK). I would like to be able to lock my keys in the truck but the truck still recognizes the Key Fob in the truck and keeps the doors unlocked.

Is the ability for the truck to allow the key fob to be locked in the truck a dealer programmed option? I asked about it and the service manager said I would have to look up the procedure online and program it myself. I also wanted to enter my own code to unlock the KEK.

I'd appreciate any info you could provide.  My dealer's service center doesn't give me a "warm fuzzy feeling" when it comes to maintenance on my truck!

You need a Faraday pouch for the Fob.  I take the key with me but I leave my Fob in the truck when bicycling and kayaking so the fob isn't lost or ruined if it gets wet.  The pouch prevents the Fob from communicating with the truck while the pouch is sealed. I have the key, so I can get back into the truck when I return.

Bit of a Necrothread but does the Master code stop working after you program a personal code?  I just tried to set mine up, master code worked fine, so I tried setting a personal code.  I don't know if I didn't hit the buttons I thought I did (personally I think the split buttons 1/2, 3/4, etc. are easy to make a mistake on) but the code I thought I set does not work, and now neither does the master code.  Is this thing now just a brick?
