Intake Valves Cleaning Procedure

I need to perform valves cleaning using CRC/Seafoam intake valves cleaning spray can (CRC is what I am using). I saw some videos and read the instructions and it seemed easy and fair enough, I still think it is. However, I do have problems with the nozzle to reach inside the throttle body (alternatively vacuum line). At some other non GM videos, I saw the throttle body was completely exposed, and when I even try to leave a little gap to fit the nozzle, the rpm was not stable with turbulence. Some videos use extension and then cover the throttle, but will that still allow the sprayed chemicals to reach in? Vacuum line seems easier by using a rage to cover the hose and insert the nozzle next to the rage, but what about the other end of the vacuum line that I’ve disconnect? And I assume that inlet vacuum line is the one from the driver side.

Last point is, which method/path allows good amount of sprayed chemicals to reach the valves?

Sorry for all that questions,,

I usually do it through the throttle body. If you have a power drivers seat it makes it easier. You just put a stick or something between the seat and the throttle and inch your seat up until the desired rpm

I actually stopped doing after seeing so many photos of the valves on high mileage trucks. You run the slight risk of clogging your cats from the debri.

Thank you for your comment

I don’t have a problem with the paddle, I am having a problem with the throttle body and the nozzle

Regarding the other point, my point of view is that I think I would sacrifice the catalyst rather than the engine it self. I have seen many people having problems with the lifters getting jammed because of the carbon buildup with the combination of bad oil and non premium gas

You can do it through the throttle body. Done it a couple times and no issues. Cut spray tube to fit then slide intake tube back over throttle body. Or I’ve done it through the vacuum tube that goes in the side of the intake. That’s the easiest way. I have a catch can so I just remove the line from the exit side of that and sparky it in.

Thanks
Is it the one from the driver side or passenger side?
Which will suck air?

Easiest way I've found is to just remove the air tube from the throttle body and then just spray directly into the throttle body and it will suck it right in as fast as you can spray it.

My only problem is, it needs to be completely closed before starting the treatment. I cannot leave the throttle body been exposed, otherwise the engine will get different air flow rate and the rpm will go up an down rapidly with turbulence.

In the past I have gone in through the brake booster line. But this was on a vortec and not direct injection. Not sure if this is an option on the Ecotec blocks.

Can’t do that on the Ecotech because they use vacuum pumps

I've used the U shaped curved Seafoam hose on the CRC GDI Intake valve spray can.  The Seafoam hose is made for this and you can put the air intake hose back on the throttle body.
