FiatDale Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 I don’t believe any are available yet because they can’t be tuned yet.
Flatblack83 Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 They can be tuned, just real expensive at the moment. I know the style before this run really well with a blower. The part to this tho is when you crank up the boost you need to do other fueling mods and it gets expensive there too. Right now, a blower tuned with fueling mods I could see 10k without labor.
reddeadg8 Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 shouldn't be too much longer until Whipple/Magnuson come out with something. I'd be interested if a ZL1 Camaro fuel pump/injectors could be used for fueling upgrades which is common on other builds and much cheaper than complete fuel system upgrades which is not needed at the power levels most will see on these trucks.
JAAE Posted January 1, 2020 Author Posted January 1, 2020 Thanks for the info. I guess I’ll be waiting a little longer.
Flatblack83 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 At a certain power range the mechanical high pressure fuel pump needs to be changed along with the one in the tank. A Buddy of mine has a procharged 16, it does 8-9 psi and ran out of fuel. The high pressure mechanical was I think 900.00 plus. He tried just doing the in tank zl1 and it was no help by itself. (I have a 408 stroker in my 03 2500hd with a magnuson 2300. It's a down right animal at 10psi. Makes my 5.3 feel like a 4cylinder.)
Swiftks Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 My cousin just supercharged his 2018 6.2L and also added a cam and had it tuned, larger fuel pump, long tube headers, etc. Dynoed @ 625 HP at the wheels .... and that was after they tuned it down a bit. Goes to show, these engines have power to spare.
