Garage turned into a workshop space

Not really a mod, but I bought a house early in 2019 and it has a detached garage in the backyard with a drive way down to it. Finally cleaned it all out and built me a shop space to work on the trail boss.

It’s an attic with plywood down for storage of other less important things not truck related like furniture hahaha

Looks like ample space.....we only have single, an pretty much stocked like yours before your cleaning......enjoy and thank for the pics !!!

Congratulations on the purge.  I've been struggling with a similar project for years and truly appreciate how difficult it is to let go of "stuff"!

Thank you! Basically what I did was I told my self. Have I used this in a year?, does this item have significant value?, and will I remember throwing it away a year from now?. If the answer was NO to all three of those, I got rid of it.

All it's missing is lots of lighting.  Menards seems to have decent prices on LED ceiling lights. I think I got some for $20 each and they do a good job.

Yeah something I can seem to do in the house (purge) but half goes to the garage to deal with later ....lol....we do though, seem to donate lots of STUFF......happy weekend, less the hail hopefully......we are expecting up to 3 inches of rain his weekend....

I donate heavily to our local building restore.  I drop my donations at the back door and then go through the front door to shop! I have actually purchased an item (or two) that I previously donated!   Intellectually, I know what needs to be done when downsizing. ( I've got hours of watching the likes of Marie Kondo etched in my brain!)  However,  it is still one of those things that is much easier said than done!  Special kudos  (and empathy) to all  downsizing boomers!  The process is more often brought on by necessity than choice.

Now finish the inside of that garage. Hang insulation on the walls. Then dry wall everything and paint it white. It will make a huge difference on the amount of light you have in there. It is worth the investment. It could be a great man cave.

That’s what I plan to do in the future, that would be awesome! My wife wanted to finish out, add a kitchen, bathroom and make the upstairs a bedroom and rent it out To make some extra $, but I convinced her that I needed it as a workshop/storage area for my millwork/casework career
