Air Dam

So I removed the air dam off my LTZ, and it looks nice. But I was looking in the manual and it mentions it could cause improper airflow to the engine. But the trail boss does not come with an air dam...so is there something special on the trail boss to fix the “improper airflow” issue? Thanks!

Just 0.0005 mpg loss!

First thing I took off since I drive off road quite a bit and was going to rip it off probably anyway on the trails.

Mine had 10,000 screws. No way I'd take it off and on constantly.

Seriously considering removing mine. I too don't really care for the looks of it after having a TB.

I removed it on my 14 Sierra, 17 Sierra, and 18 Canyon.  Never had a problem other than a negligible decrease in fuel economy.  I have a 20 Sierra diesel now and the dam will be coming off when the plow goes on in about a week.

are there any guides or tricks to removing the air dam?  I might end up doing this.

Super simple. I did it in about 10 minutes. This guy breaks it down nicely.

2020 AT4 here. Not sure how big the air dam is on other trims, but mine was only about an inch tall. Not much of a difference either way...

Anyone know the part number? I was actually hoping to add the air dam to my trail boss. Have a cross country road trip this fall. Every little bit of mpg helps.
