265/75/16 Tires

Will 265/75/16 tires fit on the stock wheel, and have plenty of clearence without playing with tbars, cutting airdam ect?

Yup, fit like a champ.

Your speedo and odometer will be a hair off though. Will lose a touch of torque too.

No rubbing, no trimming. Fit just fine. Had 285's on my previous HD and they didn't rub either so 265's will be no problem.

My friend has 285's on his '01 2500HD, the front right tire rubs durning a hard turn.

On Friday when we pocked up our '04 we went strieght to the tire shop and put on 265 BFGoodrich with white lettering. The guy at the tire shop said the my wheel size is 16X6.5 and that the BF book said it needs a 7-8 inch wheel. We measured the wheels and they measure out to be 7" Went with them anyway and let me tell you it make a BIG difference. Waiting for tomorrow to come so I can level out the front end

The HD wheels are 6.5" wide unless they changed for the 04's.

No they did not change them, in fact it is stamped on the factory wheel. But when they meassured them it was 7"....they used a outside cal off there balance machine...and I guess they factory uses a inside cal.

That 6.5 throws a red flag if you want to get bigger tires like 265s. The guy behind the counter said the 265 needs 7"-8" wheel. We went with the 265s anyway and the wheel did measure 7" on the outside. They said the books go with the outside number also.

It sounded good to me
