Why does the bible always get dragged into things?

Never understood that but it's probably because I've never read it.

I've never seen the need for that either and I've read it.

I've got better things to do with my time than read it, have people tell me to read it, preach it on the internet or attend a service.

Out of curiosity I watch a program on Frontline last night.

I like Frontline and there were no commercials, PBS.

I found it interesting.

Then there’s the time line of actual events as they unfolded. With reporters and other leaders words presented at the presidential presser a few days ago. He felt compelled to present it after all the false reports from our ( neutral) media. Showing actual time lines. Proving once again finding reports to back anyone’s bias are out there. I found an article in CNN claiming the malaria drug thats being around awhile. Was in affective in a test on older people near death on ventilators. Proving the Trump was pushing an unproven drug. Possibly causing more harm than good. Disregarding reports to the contrary. Nice huh. It possible, even probable the people who got better whould have anyway. If I was sick and it offered a 10 percent chance of improvement, sigh me up. Most people who take medication understand side effects. Maybe we should throw them all away. It’s amazing the people who are hoping for failure from Trump at our expense.

The protests are persuading the elected leaders to open. Our God given right. And will be done.

I certainly support the right to protest as it can definitely influence politicians. One way to interpret a protest is politicians need to do a better job of informing their public.  This is a particularly rough thing to protest when we know that "opening" will lead to increased cases of this deadly virus.   Thankfully, the majority of us have not (yet) suffered the health affects or know an infected loved one so we tend to be more receptive to the idea of loosening restrictions.   I have watched interviews with Covid19 ICU survivors and, to no surprise, they advocate for others staying home until this pandemic is under control. Unfortunately these individuals' stories aren't as newsworthy as a protest.   I totally appreciate the freedoms we have but we all know that there are times when we need to be protected from others.   We have all visited essential service stores in the past month and encountered individuals who don't "believe" in social distancing. Does a person's reluctance to respect the space between others result from a lack of or more knowledge?    I believe saving lives takes precedence over all other hurdles and our leaders need to keep this a number one priority.  Opting to lessen the number rather than striving to eliminate the number of casualties from this virus is unacceptable.

People seem to think staying shut down has no effect. I wonder why? My brother in law at 55 just got laid off from a company he’s worked at 30 years. They offered him another job at a different location for half pay. Less than what he can get on unemployment. What do you think his chances are getting rehired at 55? If people think shutting down has no effect stay tuned. They’re opening the best way they can. It takes co-operation from everyone. Another thing that will be coming t there’s more people infected than originally thought. That’s the next thing bubbling up. Time will tell.

I don't believe anyone truly believes staying shut down has no effect.  It creates a huge range of hardships and sacrifices but ultimately saves lives.  People like your brother-in-law are making enormous and life altering sacrifices with the net result of helping to save the lives of  strangers.  People like you and I are not hurting as much so we try to add balance by helping those in need.  The idea of re-instating activities that were promoting the spread of this virus while it is still out of control shows total disrespect for the sacrifices made to date.  Let's see this through and beat it!

Nobody ever dies from losing their job, house, car, marriage, kids. I’m glade I’m not in the job market, it’s very grim. We’re been around this before. Nothing changes.

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” - 1st Corinthians 1:18

"When Jesus heard [it], he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." - Mark 2:17

You didn't need it because you didn't know you were sick and in need.  But you are; we all are.

The whole idea for the experiment called the United States was freedom. The freedom to work was taken away. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We complied. Now we can choose to work or stay home. You’re fearful, sick don’t want to go out stay home. You want to work, go to work. If you still have a job. Freedom.

I'm with you here and I wish I could stay in.  Not going to happen, not practical.  America is throwing large sums of money to get the economy going and putting some 22 million people back to work.  Employees back on the job will happen. I don't see maintaining that 22 million, closer to 11 million.  In part because social distancing in some businesses will result in 50% less customers.  Unless large numbers of consumers see some testing numbers past 1% and or a vaccine is available, they are not going to mingle. Economic recovery from my perspective is not going to be dependent on employees going back to work, it's going to be dependent on if consumers have the confidence to go out and buy.

No it isn’t going to be 22 million, it will be higher when the numbers come out tomorrow. If you don’t have a job you’re not buying much of anything. I usually go on a trip in about this time of the year in two weeks. That’s probably not happening for obvious reasons. Lots of travelers will be pausing. If you think it’s bad double it, you may be close. Watch the screamers come out when it tics up a bit. It will unless the a systematic people are higher then expected. I suspect it may be.

What makes you think everyone reads it and believes it?

I've lived my life without it and same with everyone else in my family, we're doing alright.

    • Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?
    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
    • Just wanted to get a idea of how many of you still have problems with your radio cutting out during the first few minutes of driving, my 2024 GMC Sierra still does this after a little over 2 years of complaining to my dealer about it, and OTA updates no longer complete, the check for updates in settings is greyed out for the second time while trying to install a update, my dealer took about a week to play around with it the first time this happened, and somehow got the check for updates to work, even though it would always show system is up to date when I knew it wasn't, now again 1 month later its greyed out again when the OTA update N25-F163BU tried to install, which ironically is the update to help with reliability of future updates.
