I don't mind the playoffs, but the whole playoff point system annoys me.  So you're a fan of having them do pit road like qualifying for the All-Star race.  That would be interesting to see.

It used to be that way. One person gets hurt they stop it. It’s all about car control. Part of racing. They used to able to change engines too. Stopped that too. They’re making it like a video game. I like the format for the next few races. No practice or qualifying. That will be exciting.

pit road speed limits

Like it or not, kind of a necessary evil to save life's

Agree with the playoff's and the stage crap 100 percent, don't need, nor do I like it, makes it way to confusing even for veteran fans.

I don’t like the play offs, stages or pit road speed limits. They haven’t lost me yet.

They lost me when they were no longer 'stock cars'. So it's been awhile since I Oggled over NASCAR.  Same with NHRA "Pro Stock" has nothing to do with stock but a look. Use to have rules that stated motors needed to be based on CURRENT stock configurations. Use factory platforms and so on.

Still I loved T/F and AA/FC...that is until they started forcing payment above the premium. That is, you buy a dish package to get the channel. Then you have to pay for a premium channel to watch that channel which goes to the final round then you have to pay again to watch final rounds on a web based channel. Yea...greed kills it all eventually.

I watch none of it anymore. The death of Indy was about all I could take. Cookie cutter cars and everyone gets a participation trophy. Children throwing tantrums.....buzzzzzz killerrrrrrrrrrrrrr

So on a side note, it looks like Georgia's numbers have been staying steady since their re-opening.  That's a positive.  Looks like the warmer weather is helping keep it under control.  Maybe we'll get lucky up here in the northeast and have some consistent warmer weather so we can open up soon.

Why does no one argue over flu death counts? Or any other death count for that matter?

?

Never heard anyone argue over deaths counts assigned to smoking.

:pimp:

Because it's not blown up into the media??

What's the avg up to now, like 7,000-8,000 death per day in the US from various causes. We don't know how much more or less that avg has changes because there are less deaths from work related causes, car crashes etc etc. But on the other hand we also don't know how many deaths could have been prevented as this country shifted everything towards covid patients.

On the topic of smoking. If you smoked, you knew what you were doing to yourself. People I know never argue about people that die from it, that's their own damn fault. We just argue about why someone that did that to themselves doesn't have to pay a higher price to get health care and things of that nature. They brought the health problems onto themselves and the people that rarely or never have to go to the doctor or hospital still pay what they do.

Maybe it could be like car insurance. You drive a Corvette, you are considered a higher risk because it's value is greater and it goes pretty damn fast. The guy in the Civic won't pay what he does. So the smoker is higher risk and should pay more.

Some states are changing the way they add the covid 19 deaths. Instead of everything being because of. There’s with or because of.  With so many people, they are learning have it and don’t know it. So if you get hit by a cement truck and have covid 19. You probably died from the truck.

So, which "Bible" did you prove to yourself to be "perfect and without error"?  There's the original text, written in a variety of languages, then there are a variety of translations of those texts into other languages, and then some translations of those translations.

And I'll just give you the bits that involve predictions of what happens in the future.

Don't forget all the books that didn't make it into the Bible because their theology didn't align with the Council of Nicea's.

Tell me all these numbers aint bull$hit, man dies from alcohol poisoning listed as covid due to him having it but it wasn't the cause of death the numbers are being inflated so bad.  Read on.  https://www.foxnews.com/health/colorado-man-died-alcohol-poisoning-death-classified-coronavirus-report

One more thing, lets keep religion out of this and stay on topic.

A man gets shot in the chest. He runs back into his burning house, inhaling smoke and carbon monoxide as he goes. The roof collapses on top of him. What killed him?

Don't they already do it that way? My health/ life insurance plan through work has a question on the form for if I'm a smoker or not.

Of course some do but you could assume maybe some don't. Say you didn't have life insurance and just health insurance, to me it's easy to lie about being a smoker. A doctor and lie detector test isn't in the room with you when you look at those papers or computer screen. A smoker could just say no they don't smoke and end up saving money. Doing that would be at their own risk and I'd think some would do it.

My work has that question and if you say no you get a slight discount, so instead of $90 per pay check it's $65. But it's so easy to lie and that's the problem. I realize the enforcement of this and figure out exactly who does and doesn't would be tough but I think most get what I am after here.

But then as soon as you end up in hospital with lung cancer, your insurance company realizes you lied and takes away your coverage.

    • We've been fans of the 40-20-40 front seat in the lower trims; specifically the leather option on the "3-across" version of the  40-20-40. I hope this can still be ordered in the "Silverado" or RST trim packages.  AND .... if dual exhausts are a part of the Custom trim,  does that mean a V8 package is available on Customs ?  Has the RST trim been discontinued ?  When ordering a V8 on one of these lower trims .... must it be the 5.7 ?  Or, on 4WD units can the 6.6 be ordered ?
    • I like it.   In a world of vehicle front ends that look like they've had a little too much nipping and tucking, I appreciate that GM went with a bold and professional look for the new Silverado and kept the aggression understated. The new 1500 looks a little more like the current 2500.   The interior looks well done as usual, although I'm not a fan of billboard screens on the dash. At least recess the gauge cluster screen. I see passenger screens as "keeping up with the Joneses'" in automotive interiors of late, which is fine. I don't think they belong in most pickups, but choice is good. Maybe some day I'll appreciate having one. Probably not, but, maybe.   Yet another steering wheel and airbag design. I wonder what it costs to have so many different models of airbags and buttons and steering wheel frames. IMO, pick a good one and stick with it. The new one is very...luxurious...looking. Again, not bad, but also not what I'd expect in a pickup.   GM has left us awaiting engine choice announcements and official details.     What will I be ordering on day one?   Nothing. I like my 2025 and it would be silly to get rid of it just to have a 2027.
    • I'm also waiting to see if they confirm Apple CarPlay, because I'm not interested in subscription fees just to use the hardware I already purchased.    In closeups it looks like it gets the Colorado/Canyon center screen based headlight controls which I despise. They also appear to lose all the hard switches for functions like seat heating and cooling, parking sensors, lane control, traction control, etc. which means they're all screen/menu based, so verdict is out on how well those will work with gloves or wet/dirty hands.  Admittedly they don't show the left knee area of the dash, but I don't see hard switches for locker control on the ZR2, and the "mode" switch appears to eliminate the rotary dial with a quick way to access tow/haul.  My 2021 has had multiple screen failures and at times the screen just locks up, goes black, or reboots while driving even after replacement, so loosing the ability to access many of these functions, especially lighting control would be pretty frustrating.   There aren't enough photos or detailed trim details other than one mention of "available microfiber trim" to confirm, but the use of microfiber on the seats and or center console is a deal killer for me.  Just because you drive a ZR2 or High Country, doesn't mean you don't work out of it, and that material is difficult at best to keep clean and looking decent.   Lexus and several other brands are using it on seats, dash, and door panels now, I assume as a cost and weight saving measure,  and it looks horrible 1-2 years into ownership.  I see what appears to be piano black on the doors and center console in some photos, which also has no place in ANY vehicle in my opinion because it mars and scratches too easily, especially for a truck.  Will be interesting to see what GMC comes out with when the Sierra is released as far as materials go.
    • Im a fan.  Simply moving the screen up helps the look of the interior.  I feel like GM dropped the ball on the current gen having the screen not at the same level as the top of the gauge cluster.  The GMCs look better with the vents above the screen to close that gap.
    • I hear you, its just not something one would even think of that the new oil in the container isn't filtered to a spec one would expect it to be.    As to a passenger vehicle theme and the maintenance requirement to meet to ensure a warranty is honored, these days with claims of life time transmission fluid on some models and the limited amount of oil changes that would bring one to the end of the factory warranty, that sells vehicles for those that like to hear "easy care maintenance free", but the manufacturer certainly knows different as to what that more than likely means for the longevity of some of the components if given that minimum spec maintenance. Then again I imagine there are a fair number of people that really don't care as long the vehicle gets them a certain number of years down the road because they are the type that want the next new thing, new and improved ... more bells and crap etc on the new one on the show room floor. Manufacturers have learned the phycological game to entice the customer out of their money !
