Trade in VS Keep

Always take the rebate over 0%. Do the math. Almost always the rebates work out to he cheaper both short and long term. Plus you start out with a much lower loan amount.

I had opposite experience....I bought when incentives were high and could not find a used truck close to price I bought new....I couldnt believe how much used trucks were asking for...

I thought I can drop down a year or 2 and go up a trim level or 2 and just wasn't the case....but if were talking MSRP of course you can easily but who pays that anyway.....always wait for best deals than buy, right?.....least that's what ive done last 20 yrs

Most rebates are in lieu of 0%.  Not all, but most.  I just bought a 2020 LT Trail Boss @ 0% and still got $6k in incentives.  I was upside down and my loan was at about 4.5%.  Rolling over at 0% made sense.   I plan on keeping this truck for a number of years.

What rebates did you end up getting? Dealers will still discount their cut but almost always if you take 0% you give up rebates from the manufacturer.

You can do this and then refinance through a credit union for a low rate (typically 2-4%) which usually equates to less than $1000 in interest over the life of the loan.

About $6k in dealer rebates, dealer trade assistance... dealer this and that.  Big ad on their site at the time saying "everyone qualifies for these rebates".
The mfg rebates were separate.  I did not qualify for those as I took the 0% route.

Ok that makes sense. Just dealer discounts then. Not manufacturer rebates.
