Adaptive cruise sucks

Now I was just doing this to see how well the adaptive cruise/coming to a stop works in my At4 vs my challenger 392 adaptive cruise/ coming to a stop. I figured why not know how well the safety systems work. It would’ve killed me if I wasn’t paying attention and doing it on purpose. Am I the only one that thinks GM dropped the ball on this feature? Btw I’ve tried it a few times not just once, besides that love the truck.

Yep GM really did. I have a Jeep SRT8 and its flawless, I even tried in winter (obviously not recommended) and it works.

My Aunt has a new Escalade and its junk in that also.

I used it in my truck this past weekend and it worked perfectly. What dont you like about it?

GM safety technology pretty much sucks.  Not only was GM late to the game, but their technology isn't nearly as refined as that of other companies.  Everything about my 2015 Hyundai Sonata was superior to anything in my 2019 Silverado.  Obviously I don't have ACC, but it sounds like what's on the 2020s is pretty sketchy, which doesn't surprise me, as it's single camera based.  My 2015 has radar-based ACC and my wife's 2018 Subaru Outback has the twin camera Eyesight system.  Both work flawlessly.  In contrast, I've gotten lots of false positives with my Silverado's blind spot monitoring.  I never got any with the other vehicles.  The rear cross traffic alert provides alerts much later than the other two vehicles.  All in all, GM sucks when it comes to safety technology.

I really like the ACC on my 2020 HC.  There are times that I use the standard CC.  I love having ACC as an option.  For those that don't like it, its a good thing that it can be turned off, right?

It's not a case of not liking it it's just not as good as literally every single other vehicle on the road.

If you've only ever use a GM ACC it might seem not that big a deal and then you to get into a Ford or a Chrysler and it's way better. But mostly it's the lane keep I found better in my Jeep my Ford and my Ram. And the GM if the front camera is dirty it will not work at all whereas my G could be coated in mud and it'll work perfect

I do agree with the camera limitations, even in bright sun ACC doesn’t like to work.

I assume that it's just a placeholder until GM roll's out super cruise across their lineups.  The current GM system is camera only whereas Ford/Chrysler have a radar based system.

Ever since I got my F150, I was ruined by the ACC.  I use it everywhere, I think I'm forgetting how to drive when I switch back to my other vehicles, haha.

I love it!  One of the reason I purchased this truck.
