I just watched a couple of YouTubes on these. There are a couple different brands but one thing that stuck out was they said that if you remote start your vehicle it might disconnect.  I am very interested in this so I can add in the wireless charging and not have any plugs showing.

I screwed around with mine again today, still no luck.

I got my Carplay2air a few weeks ago and has been flawless in my 2020. I didn’t update it to the newest version as it works perfect and don’t want to chance the update screwing it up. It connects every time but takes about 10-20 seconds

I'm getting a replacement for mine, no lights on it.  Hopefully when I get the new one, it will finally work as expected.

Check the USB plug you are using, plug your phone directly into it and verify CarPlay works from that location.  Some USB plugs do not go directly to radio

Any tips to getting it to work? They told me to make sure my phone and truck isn’t connected to any WiFi’s and a few other steps but nothing works, I can see it’s doing something but not what it’s supposed to do for sure.

Hmm the only thing I did was I NEVER updated. So right out of the box this is what I did I started my truck went into the Bluetooth settings to forget my phone. Shut the truck off then started again and plugged the dongle into the usb inside my center console. Then searched for Bluetooth on my phone and connected to the dongle and waited a little while for it to connect then made sure it worked. Then searched for updates to see if it was the latest version it isn’t so I NEVER updates as I wasn’t sure if it’s the new update messing other people’s dongle from working.

Yeah mine is still pretty new so far out of 30-40 times I jumped in the truck to go for a drive it has connected every time. I don’t think I’ll do any updates unless it stops working. I have heard of people’s going to crap after a month or two so time will tell.

Mines new as well- mine will say connect a compatible phone. Sometimes it will register when I start driving. Mine usually takes 2-3 minutes after starting before it’s up and going. It’s a decent piece. Hoping that 2021 GM option for the wireless CarPlay will be able to be retrofitted into my 20’.

Yeah mine has done that a few times as well but will always connect. Yep I’m also waiting for the 2021 retro idea I looked that up first to see if the new 2021Tahoe would work but no one has done it yet so I’ll go with this dongle for now till we can retro fit the 2021 modules in.

    • If it has a stick I can have fun with it. When my wife first got her Acura years ago I used to tease her about it. I was only interested in muscle cars. They’re gone now. So once a month I drive the Acura. Every once in a while I’ll take it to Redline. But just normal driving on some twisty back roads usually does the trick.
    • I went through again with a test light and everything checked out.    I suppose it could be the MAF itself but I've tried 3 different sensors, 2 of which were in running vehicles previously (the one in this truck, and the one in the donor truck), as well as a new one I picked up from NAPA. I would just be surprised if all 3 were bad.   EDIT/UPDATE: I swapped in the MAP sensor that was originally with the 2010 PCM, that made the code for map sensor voltage high Go away, and the map sensor seems to read normal with key on engine off (14psi or so), but it still doesn't run and does the same thing as before.
    • In addition to a cell or wifi connection, the infotainment needs to be enabled to download software updates. That's a toggle within the system settings.   But...if the truck was prevented from receiving updates in a past life, missing a bunch of updates may mean it won't go back and download all of those because they're not available or the system is too far out of date.   If a formal recall depends on a software update, the recall for that truck remains in an open status until it's applied. The dealer would need to apply the software update in that instance.   Most updates downloaded and applied via the infotainment aren't recalls/safety recalls, they're enhancements and usability fixes which aren't critical.
    • Recently I've been getting a message, "New Brake Pads Detected. Reset Brake Pad Life?", But I haven't had the pads replaced and the truck only has 28,000 miles. The Brake Pad Life shows Front 64% and Rear 79%. I select NO to resetting the brake pad life and the message goes away but comes back at the nest restart.   I stopped by the dealer and was told that it sounds like a software glitch that would require reprogramming. Even though I have the extended warranty, they tell me that reprogramming is not covered unless a module was actually bad and needed to be replaced. Simply reprogramming is not covered. So, they want $200.00 just to diagnose the problem. If it turns out no bad module, another charge on top of that to do the reprogramming. If the cause was an actual bad module, everything would be covered under the warranty.   Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Should this issue be covered under the warranty?   Thanks
    • NHT is diesel only, correct.     The GVWRs for NHT on 3/4 ton bring them to the same numbers as many of the 2WD 1 tons.  A crew 4x4 standard 3/4 with NHT is 11,750lbs, a 1 ton same cab/box/4x4 is 12,100lbs.     Hubs and hub bearings are the same for 11.5" and 12" axles.  Housing, diff carrier and ring/pinion are larger for the 12".   All gas use the 11.5" axle, 3/4, 1 ton and 1 ton DRW.
