A couple months ago I bought a 2017 Sierra 1500 from Carmax. Worked great when I first got it but one day the infotament system would go dark while I was driving and then come right back on and display the Service Trailer Brake System message. After that happens sometime later when I go to turn the steering wheel the truck will turn off, display all the warning lights and lock the steering wheel in the position I have it while turning. To clear it I have to turn the truck off and back on for it to go back to normal. Has this happened to anyone else or have any idea of what it could be? My buds think it's a wire short somewhere or think the trailer brake is messed up and thinks I am hauling a trailer and making too sharp of a turn.

Bringing to life this old post. My nephew has a truck (2016) that is doing this same exact thing! Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

I have a 2016 Silverado 1500 having the same issue. Steering wheel will lock up when turning about 10mph or less and it’ll alert stabilitrak or the trailer brake system. Seems like an electrical issue, i have already replaced the negative cable but still the same problem.
