So a further update after a month in the shop they replaced lifter guides and fuel rails and gave me truck back and said it was cylinder 2 lifter bleeding out that was causing the misfire which felt like people a stutter at low rpms. So since this shaking started they replaced camshaft position sensor and that wasn’t it. Now they have replaced lifters cause cylinder 2 had a bleeding lifter and that wasn’t the problem either. Truck still shakes and stutters. Does any one see a problem with this I’ve brought truck in twice with no CEL and they found big problems each time but still haven’t fixed the problem the truck was brought in for. This seems unbelievable. The truck has only 1200 miles now and its two months old and now is going in shop for the third time to fix same issue that hasn’t been addressed but they keep finding bigger problems each time they look into it. I’m at disbelief did they just rebuild the top end for nothing. Furthermore on paperwork they stated they test drove vehicle after repair and it was fine. But I looked at the Chevrolet app and it says no miles were driven on my truck after the date they said they repaired. This thing is becoming highly suspicious I’m not sure the dealer is doing anything but giving back truck after holding it for a month

Picked up the vehicle after it spent a week at the dealership.  They replaced a valve cover gasket for the leak. second time they replaced a valve cover gasket. and said as far as the shake is concerned, it's a normal characteristic of the 6.2 and mine is better than most. Blowing smoke up my a$$. I'm going to have an outside shop diagnose the issue and pursue lemon law. I'm done with this POS. 70k dollar pos. It's a shame.

I end up selling mine to CarMax, I was able to recoup all my money back with the high prices on used cars. 

I didn't try the lemon law because I will end up losing a significant amount of money . Texas lemon law said that the dealer can deduct the usage(millage) of the vehicle at the time of them purchasing back from you. 

 

I loved the truck but like you I got tired of dealing with this issue and who knows what else in the future.

I had this same issue recently on my 2021 Yukon AT4.

 

- no engine light but same symptoms mentioned in above thread

 

- replaced valve body (no change)

- replaced torque converter

- - O2 sensor warning comes on

- Replace O2 Sensor and shutter/shift problem goes away and increase MPG +3

 

My Recommendation if no engine light or error message is showing then change out O2 sensor. Mine didn’t show as bad till the torque converter was replaced.

 

Bad O2 sensor symptoms reflect the issues in this thread.

Hello my 2021 5.3 AT4 shakes also… I noted it after doing the K&N CAI and exhaust..

 

then at 8127 my # 6 lifter blew .. after repair  it just shakes all the time while going slow!

 

I return it to stock filter and it got 80% better but now with Air conditioning on it is more noticeable. A/c Off near perfect 

 

I don’t know but Dealerships say it is operating to Spec but I doubt it.  
 

during lifter warranty work they also replaced #1 cylinder plug for misfiring and it was fouled.  So I will soon be going to Mobile 1 oil and all new plugs hopefully this helps

Back from a new dealer, after the last damaged my car and repaired it without my knowledge, I refused to take it back to them.  New dealer found a misfire code on the same cylinder as the failed lifter, and replaced the spark plug. After the lifter failure, plugs never replaced nor were they replaced on subsequent visits. This is visit #4 for engine failure since August and just a little over 1k miles since original failure at 4700 miles. Misfire at idle is essentially gone, however shake/misfire still prevalent on light acceleration.  I notice it all the time when warm. After a hard acceleration to pass or accelerate to get on the highway, then relax and maintain a speed while just applying just a little gas or coasting. I'll drive it around for a bit to get all monitors back up and hopefully another code will pop up to lead to the problem

I guess I've been lucky, but the sputtering and whining started yesterday.  I have a 2019 Trailboss Custom with 93K miles.  I thought it was just a bad tank of gas at first, but there is also whining from what sounds to be in the transmission.  It goes away when I drop the throttle, but comes back at low rpm.  I've looked at the belts and they all seem fine.  Oil and transmission fluid are good too.  Anyone else with a custom that has had these issues?

JUST got a 2020 Silverado 1500 custom. It does the same thing your description was perfect. It only has 43k miles. At first I thought I went off the road and was driving on rumble strips on the sholder.

I have the same issue with my 2022.5 Sierra SLT 6.2L. I really hate that shuddering issue. Very sad for a $70k truck to have so many issues including the trailer brake issue I am deal with as well. Shame on you GM for such a crappy product.

My 2022 1500 2.7 4x4 has recently started having noticeable vibrations at 9,000 miles.  It began with only vibrating around 23-25mph (mostly during gentle acceleration and cruising at speed) but has increased to vibrations at multiple speeds.  The vibration isn’t noticeable on more aggressive acceleration, but feeling like driving on rumble strips if you are cruising at speed.

     I have taken it to my dealership 3 times within the past month with nothing being resolved. (2 of those the service manager and a technician rode with me to verify the vibration after they said they couldn’t replicate it on the first visit).  They have asked me to drop it off again next week, but do not have a plan of action.  
     I was hoping someone has had their issue resolved so maybe I can point them in a direction, since it’s starting to seem like the dealership is just holding the truck for a couple days at a time and returning it without trying to resolve the issue.

I am a lifelong GM truck and tahoe/burban owner and am losing my mind on this issue.  we have had a variety of them for our multi location small business, not exactly a fleet operation but have had enough trucks to know when issues start to present themselves.  I'm on the road with regular towing and loading, 500-700 miles a week on my daily driver which isn't the most in the world but isn't nothing, mostly two and four lane highway miles, weekend gravel and dirt use in the upper midwest so a lot of four wheel drive all winter. 

 

My last daily driver was 2016 Tahoe 5.3 V8 on 6 speed transmission with 3.08 gears.  changed torque converter at 50k and slightly improved, changed tranny fluid again around 75k, the truck got slightly worse each time and did it until I traded it for a 2020 crew cab LTZ/Z71 Chevy with 8 speed tranny and symptoms started around 40k.  Been working with the same GM certified shop for decades who found the TSB, changed the tranny fluid and gear boxes.  improved slightly but getting worse gradually, replaced a front bearing for noise but now at 90k on the 2020 and just took it in today for an oil change and having the shop check it out again, the low RPM at both high and low speeds is as bad as it was at 40k.

 

still own a 2009 HD 2500 silverado snow plow truck with 200k miles on big block V8 and never had any low RPM shake, several crew cab silverados with the 5.3 L V8 before the 2016 Tahoe and also still have a 2011 GMC yukon XL with 160,000 miles on the 5.3 V8 that has also never had this issue.  It has got to be something they've been using just these last two generations.

I had issues with the transmission shudder back in February of this year at 19175 miles. The dealer did the recommended flush and the issue seemed to go away until a couple of days ago. At first, I thought it was the road I was on because it was a rough road. The other day I went out of town and noticed it under light acceleration, and it started to do it at steady speeds. Also, if I accelerate hard and let up the rpm's do not drop back right away, and it takes some time before it upshifts. Looks like it is going back to the dealer again. I am starting to wish I had my old 2008 2500HD with 217500 miles back. I only did normal maintenance and repairs on it, and it was running and driving fine when I traded it in. The only reason I got a newer truck was because of rust from the road salt Ohio uses.

I have the same exact issue. The issue could be the same as mine. If you have normal square blocks from Chevy, they are not angled. You need tapered rear blocks. 
 

If you guys have factory block as a lift and you want to keep the factory blocks just order 2.5 degree shims. This will angle the rear diff so the pinion on the drive shaft is inline with the transmission. Chevy should have these included but it took me forever to figure out the issue

Throw these on your rear leaf springs and point the narrow end towards the front and the thick end towards the back. that should fix the issue.

    • Have considered installing a DC to DC charger in your camper to replace your isolator?  
    • Common failure.  You need to replace the fuel door housing.   The painted cover transfers over to the new housing.  To remove the old one there is 4 spots where you poke the plastic to release it.  
    • No such thing as regenerative braking on a pure ICE vehicle.     Regenerative braking is the re-capture of energy from electric motors and stores it in the battery pack.  So hybrids, PHEV and EVs have regenerative braking.     What you are seeing is the charging system changing modes is all.  Its likely entering charge mode for some sort of reason is all.  All of the charging modes will be listed below.   As for L10 vs D.  L10 turns off automatic grade braking.  L10 puts you in control of grade downshifts where in D it will automatically do it based on brake pedal position and other factors.  Otherwise L10 and D drive exactly the same aside from that one aspect.    Battery Sulfation Mode The BCM will enter this mode when the interpreted Generator output voltage is less than 13.2 V for 45 minutes. When this condition exists the BCM will enter Charge Mode for 2–3 minutes. The BCM will then determine which mode to enter depending on voltage requirements.   Charge Mode The BCM will enter Charge Mode when ever one of the following conditions are met:   Windshield wipers are ON for more than 3 s. Climate Control Voltage Boost Mode Request is true, as sensed by the HVAC control module via serial data. High speed cooling fan, rear defogger, and HVAC high speed blower operation can cause the BCM to enter the Charge Mode. The estimated battery temperature is less than 0°C (32°F). Battery State of Charge is less than 80%. Vehicle speed is greater than 145 km/h (90 mph) A current sensor malfunction exists. System voltage is determined to be below 12.56 V When any one of these conditions is met, the system will set targeted generator output voltage to a charging voltage between 13.9–15.5 V, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature.   Fuel Economy Mode The BCM will enter Fuel Economy Mode when the estimated battery temperature is at least 0°C (32°F) but less than or equal to 80°C (176°F), the calculated battery current is less than 15 A and greater than −8 A, and the battery state-of-charge is greater than or equal to 80%. Its targeted generator output voltage is the open circuit voltage of the battery and can be between 12.5–13.1 V. When fuel economy mode is active, the generator is not charging, only maintaining open circuit battery voltage. The BCM will exit this mode and enter Charge Mode when any of the conditions described above are present.   Headlamp Mode The BCM will enter Headlamp Mode when ever the head lamps are ON (high or low beams). Voltage will be regulated between 13.9–14.5 V.   Start Up Mode When the engine is started the BCM sets a targeted generator output voltage of 14.5 V for 30 s.   Tow/Haul Mode (if applicable) Pressing the Tow/Haul Mode button located on the center stack, the vehicle system voltage is raised and the remote (non-vehicle) battery will be charged. Having the headlamps on will raise the system voltage and if the Tow/Haul button is applied it will not serve any purpose. The voltage is regulated between 13.9-14.5 V.      
    • Hello from Australia Just sharing that there is now a way to delete the active shutters entirely with just a plug in module. Opens up tons of room to light bars etc.
    • I have an observation and a question... 1) I watch the voltage closely because I have had to dial in the cut-in/cut-out voltages of the battery separator to my camper.  The "smart" charging drives me nuts.  Anyway, I noticed that when coasting for a while, and especially if lightly using the brakes (though not necessary), the voltage goes up from mid/high-13 volts to mid/high-14 volts.  Then it drops back down after stopping or going again.  Consistently!   The only explanation I can come up with is REGENERATIVE BRAKING!  Well, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's certainly free extra battery charging.   2) Driving on mountain roads I will use L and vary the max gear.  Things straighten out and I end up in L10.  Sometimes I leave it there for a while.  Is there any difference between L10 and D?
