harriettubman Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 Hey guys, I'm a new owner of a '15 silverado 4x4 5.3. 3:42 gearing. stock size tires. One of the things that really bothers me with this truck is that when you put it in Drive and let your foot off the brake the truck doesn't move or crawl forward. It just sits there as if its still in park or on an incline. But even on level ground it just sits there. It's driving me nuts and makes the truck feel weak. As far as i can tell i don't have a brake sticking.. Every other truck I've ever drivin will lurch or jump when put in gear then crawl forward when letting off the brake and this one doesn't. This is my first GM half ton I've really only ever driven 2500HDs and my old f150 so I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Is it because it idles so low around 500 rpm? Does anyone have any ideas why? Or is your truck like this too Thanks
CamGTP Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 Sounds odd. The only time mine will not roll forward is if my hill start assist is active.

HeySkippyDog Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 Get the truck up, all 4 wheels or two at a time, and in neutral. You should be able to turn the wheels by hand somewhat easily. If not, take the brake caliper off, grease up the slides real good, and try again. If that doesn't fix it, you're gonna need a new caliper.Sent from my SM-J810F using Tapatalk
JimCost2014 Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 Find an empty parking lot, put the truck in gear, jump out, (once again, empty lot) and try pushing the truck. Even if it moves, it will not go fast enough that you can not jump back in. If you have a brake hanging up, you will not be able to move it, maybe even try this in neutral first.

That's a great idea Jim.
