Not to mention, using that front camera when parking. I always feel like I'm SO close when I'm nudging forward to park the truck. Then I jump out, and find I have like 6" of margin left. ? ?

I added a relatively inexpensive wireless front license plate camera for my dash mount monitor. I originally purchased a wireless setup for my travel trailer but since sold the trailer.  You don't appreciate how bad the blind spot is until you have a camera or/and sensors. To demonstrate I placed my bicycle 4' from my front bumper.   BTW  It is usually easier to back-in to a parking space, imo.

?? Yeah, and the front blind spot is worse on the T1s.

Lol, yes I know how to (and most often do) back into parking spaces.

The backup camera, that's on the majority of the trucks, makes it so easy that a caveman could do it

Just ordered my GMPE from Chevy Accessories' website. ??

I should re-title this thread "You have $2000. What mods do you do", because I talked myself into the GM CAI a few days ago and ordered it from ShopChevyParts.com. ?

Once I started down the road of changing up the exhaust, I figured I might as well just complete the set so that I'm not stuck thinking I should have bought the CAI after I have the GMPE exhaust installed.

Going to install the GM CAI over Labor Day weekend, then have the GMPE installed right after that so they can flash my ECM all in the same visit.

Can't wait to have this all done to raise my 5.3L to new life! ?? Thanks to all for the opinions! I'm going to enjoy these purchases far longer and far more than a tonneau or shocks.

Are you using a PanaVise mount for that?

The mount came with the monitor. It is an universal type fit that sticks to the dash and allows the monitor to be tilted/swiveled/removed easily. Hopefully it won't damage the dash when or if I remove the mount!

None of those will gain you a dime at trad-in time.  Keep the $1500 and put it towards the new Tahoe.

The first thing I did even before the first night was exhaust. Then a tune. All the way up to my 14 GMC. Usually the tune was for getting the transmission firmer, raising the shift points and the red line. With the exception of the 14 a premium tune. The 14 was E-85 compatible. Just running that fuel pump the horsepower. And finally turning off the cylinder deactivation. I guess the trucks are locked now. Shame.

Never really went into this process thinking my money spent on any of these would = value add-back when I trade/sell later. This is more of a "$1500 to enjoy something for 2 more years" vs. $6-10K more out of pocket now for 2 more years.

I tinted the windows and giving it a good ceramic coat.  A bug deflector will come later as will upgraded rear splash guards. That's it. Use and enjoy the truck from then on.
