Maybe it's an age thing. Mine. I too am 6'2" and 210 lbs. I've lowered my 16 and installed a step bar. I near fall out of it. Should have added a second step.

 

 

I've never hit my knees on anything in her and I have 38" of inseam. Move the seat back some. 

 

Looks is indeed subjective and it seems you find some new features useful to your situation. Our needs differ thus my opinions will too. Yes?

The first thing I do when I get into any vehicle is move the seat all the way back.  I've never owned a vehicle where I didn't have the seat all the way back.

My mechanic is 6'5" and I guess 260 ish. He puts the seat in the box Funny to watch me get in after he's been in there. 

 

What are you hitting your knees on? I do it in the wife's Terrain and my Civic and know how painful that can be.
