Skip that and go for a Cobra.  I have the version from two generations ago, still works great.  Stays attached to my windshield 24x7 so its a good quality piece for sure.

Install it yourself easily by tucking the wires behind the trim and weather stripping.

Just me but, I wouldn't spend that much money on Cams......

I have these (front and rear) on my Silverado and my wife's CRV.......Video is excellent, they stay stuck on the Windshield, very small and inconspicuous,  and they last a long time.

Had these on my prior vehicle for 4-years with zero issues.

$55.00

Saved me big time when it captured a wrong way driver coming down a freeway exit ramp and we collided head-on........they tried to make up some stories.......video shown, case closed!

I  finished installed my Thinkware Q800Pro today, and it wasnt difficult at all.

Few things I'd strongly suggest is getting trim removal tool, it'll definetly help get the fuse panels off nice and quick, and will also allow you to tuck wires in the header too.

another thing to hard wire this dash cam, get two mirco2 fuse taps, In the passenger side fuse block. one for ACC power, and one for Battery power. You won't need to cut into the system wiring at all then.

Is there a reason you did it this way vs. tapping into the rear view mirror power?

I needed both ACC power and constant power for this model, when I turn on/off the truck it automatically changes between continuous recording/Surveillance mode.

That and I didn't want to physically cut into the wiring. If i need to remove it, its as simple as cutting few tie wraps and popping two fuses.

Good to know, thanks! Did you go with a rear camera as well?

I did, and I hid the excess wiring for that in the driver side fuse compartment IMG_20200831_151507.thumb.jpg.249f389b780e76bf2eede0eafb515099.jpg

You saw an individual driving the wrong way on an exit ramp so you decided to hit them head on? Interesting...

Thanks for your smart @$$ reply when you have zero clue what happened or a single detail surrounding the accident.

Yea, I saw him, then hit them head on when they were going the wrong way because I have a dash cam.  ?
Im not exposing the details to such a stupid response.....

Fact is, the outcome would of been the same with you driving or anyone else in my shoes, guaranteed.

Nice! Did you pull off the trim and headliner to run the wiring? Or were you able to just tuck it all in? I would like to do the same thing.

just tucked it in behind the weather stripping, and in behind the A arm with the loop down in the fuse compartment, i routed the power wire the same way on the other side too. You can still see some wire exposed if you are looking up from the dash, which no one would ever do unless cleaning the windows.
