Ok guys, I carry a pistol daily but, can't bring it into work due to corporate policy and sometimes I go to other places that don't allow me to bring my piece with me.. In my 2016 I had a full console and the little pocket up front was perfect for stashing a pistol..

My 2020 has the jump seat and I have been tossing the pistol into the portion under the seat bottom but, it's a bit awkward.  Glove box is a bit of a reach plus kinda easy for someone to notice me leaving a pistol in there, upper portion of the armrest storage is full up with other stuff.... Anybody have a good place to stash their gun in their T1? Not looking for one of those holsters that straps on the dash or anything when I'm driving I always stick the pistol (in a holster back in my waist band)..

Thanks for looking!

Hate those magnets. They are junk if you carry anything bigger than a 42/43

Also they're not concealed, leaves the gun in plain sight...

GM offers a safe that fits in the center console. I think mine was $150 or so. It installs with just a vet bolts. I mounted a holster inside so mine is easy keeping. I cut the bottom mat so it fits on top of the safe.  Unless you really look you don’t even notice it.

Without the center console, no console safe. I don’t know where the hell I would put mine without it. I always thought the little semi-hidden rear seat back cubbies are perfect for a pistol but it would be kinda goofy to stick it in your back seat every time you go in somewhere.

Yeah I rarely put in the the safe I kept in my old truck. Really the only time I leave it on a regular basis is at work and I can see my truck from my desk so not looking for a safe really. I’m relatively satisfied with having it under the jump seat, doubt most theives would even look there.

If I had the console I’d consider something like that for sure but, I have the jump seat with storage.

Mines right in the damb drink holder!  Liberals where you at?

Don’t ya worry about someone smashing the window and stealing your pistol? I don’t even leave spare change in the cup holders. Maybe you miss read my question, looking for a place to stash it while the truck is parked and I’m in a place I can’t carry, when I’m in the truck the pistol is on me.

A gun safe will deter thieves some. Locks are for honest people.

You can kick in the  door of a house, break a window so why worry.

I get what you’re saying locks are only for honest people. But this safe would not be very easy for someone to get into with it’s placement in the console. Will some realize  “oh there’s a safe here let me go get my tools to get into it”. I doubt it. They are not going to spend that much time breaking into a truck and getting caught. It would be faster for them to just steal the whole truck at that point.

Guns are being stolen from trucks/cars left and right. Yes , they check under the seat too. Guns/firearms are at premium prices right now. Friend is a detective. Tells me these thieves are thorough and very quick. They know the hiding places. A buddy of mine cashed his $1200 Govt. check earlier this year, went to the store. He picked a spot that he knew no one would ever think to look to stash his cash...... guess what they looked. Truck was locked and he was only away from the truck a few minutes.

Firearms are really hot items right now. Easy to resell due to the price of firearms is out of sight. Several are stolen from vehicles everyday in this area. LEO friend urges people to get the safe. You're not going to be able to carry 100% of the time. The list of locations that are posting signage prohibiting carry on premises seems to be growing.

I've got one now and have had one for over 15 years in all my vehicles. I personally know they work. Just ask the guy that wasted time trying to open my safe, he got my Glock in his ear and then a crack on his skull after entering my truck.

I lock up my truck, I'm going to securely  lock up my weaponry as well. Not going to let someone else use my stuff, free

I hear ya, if my truck is out of my sight I lock it up, I’m going to try to find something that fits under the jump seat but, planning on a center console swap.

Not too worried about my gun being stolen I have good insurance that covers replacement and all of my carry guns are less than $500 and I’ve got plenty of em.

In Ohio it’s not a criminal matter to carry into a private business that posts those signs so I ignore them.. Only exception is work because I don’t want to lose my job.
