Anyone noticed oil life indicator counts down if vehicle sits for a week or longer 2019 Silverado percentage of oil life decreases even though vehicle is not driven much

My 2014 Corvette functions the same, miles and time.

Yep as stated above, time is part of the Oil lIfe Monitor (OLM) algorithm. Modern OLM systems take into account a lot of different factors, trip length, avg run time, oil temperature, driving style, time, etc. Not like the old days where the system just counted down your miles and reminded you to change your oil at predetermined set mileage intervals.

It, and all modern GM OLMs, will be at zero a maximum of one year after reset regardless of driving frequency, style or mileage. For example, my wife's 2019 Equinox has only been driven just over 1000 miles since her last oil change in March (just as Covid hit) but her Oil Life Monitor is down to 31%. When my Silverado hits 1000 miles, I'll change the oil in it and the Equinox (they both use Dexos 1, Gen 2, Ow20).

Thanks I to have a 2015 Equinox but it doesn’t count down vs as fast as the 19 Silverado, with that being said I’ll probably just change them both at the same time also

Yup, humidity and additive breakdown takes place in oil regardless of if it is used or not.

I have about 3100 miles on my oil change in my 2015 Silverado but it has been 10 months since I changed the oil and my OLM says 24%. Changing the oil this weekend.
