2021 RST with Belltech set at 3/4.5, IHC helpers in the rear. I'm installing a Twisted Metalworkz weld in under bed notch on Friday so it can finally sit at 4/6. Helpers will be added back on so I can tow my boat.

Has anyone else had an issue on a 2021 truck with a bad pinion angle? I installed the Belltech 1041sp kit on my truck and the pinion angle was -10 degrees when it was done. It vibrated so bad I could barely get it to my buddies shop. We modified the rear perches to get the pinion angle close, but still have a vibration under hard acceleration. Once it's sitting at 4/6, I'll check the pinion angle and modify the perches for final to get the pinion angle 0. I called Belltech and since they haven't test fit on a 2021, they can't confirm fitment. Guess I'll be the guinea pig...it doesn't work outta the box lol. c47ad8d985685c9ea6dcce01a209af8f.jpgd247cdbbfb2a711ba8979a585327aad5.jpg2cc9262e3089a50f764a3149f76a4f46.jpg763949cd337589aaa1f1d0f46b463c5a.jpg

Tire size? Do you rub in the front? Mind if you can get a picture of how close the front tire is to the inner fender?

I am back forth about 22s and I am glad I finally see a picture (albeit 3/5)

Twisted Metalworkz ......  They have a 4 link coil over I’ve been looking at to do my 4/6 drop.  How are their products?

So far yes, but I went ahead and ordered the front struts too. The stock front end is way too bouncy. The Belltech shocks are much better than the Maxtracs.

Lmk after installed and running it some miles. I was contemplating doing this as well.

That coilover kit is sweet and I'm sure it rides awesome. I'm hoping my setup will ride good and then hold me over until I can bag this truck. It'll be a good 4-5 yrs for that to happen though.

So far the quality of the notch is very nice, I'll find out on Friday how it fits. Super excited to have this truck finally ride good and not bottom out on every bump in the road. It was lowered when it had 375 miles on it, so it's basically rode like ****** for the whole time I've had it.

How many miles do you have on your truck?  I’m of the mindset of do it all at once then enjoy the ride.

1100 miles...just got it this past Thanksgiving. After I ordered the notch and it took 3 weeks to get here. It showed up just after I went back to work...after having 10 days for the holidays. I was trying to get it done over my break, just didn't work out that way.

If I had to do it all over again I might've used the Twisted Metalworkz front and rear coilover with 4 link. It's more than twice the price of the Belltech kit but it comes double adjustable vikings. I would have to assume it rides bad ass.

285/45r22.  No rubbing.  If going with 24's it's recommended to go with 295/35.  My roads are bad so I didn't want to chance it on 24's with the lower profile tires.  Sorry, I don't have pictures but I'll try get some this weekend.

Nice!  You on Oahu?  Who did your install?  Or did you do it yourself?

Yup, on Oahu. Rads did the install and alignment.

Put the notch in today and it's finally sitting at 4/6...so excited! Rides great, no bottoming out. Still need to modify the perches to correct the pinion angle, it's worse now since I put the lowering shackles in. Don't understand for the life of me what GM changed on this truck from the 2020's. Shouldn't have to modify the belltech kit to fix the pinion angle. Is what it is now, no turning back!

Still need to decide on a wheel but leaning towards a 24x10 Vossen HF6-3. Future mod will be C6 ZR1 calipers to match the blue center caps lole61a962f9eb0b6823d46dd91591a934e.jpg5d88ffe71aef835b1b130350d29b8813.jpg15abaf3de34cf7e3c71dfda3a93cb7a3.jpga1816af5fdfe50978e89cb066fa25910.jpg17595b348e40d1f119981125b311cdb2.jpg425add02177fae0d33255dc3372aa4b3.jpgbd49bf92b645803155c0e57c5bda79cb.jpgb8fca36e51db418aca15ae59b6ed1e60.jpgf8171228de3cebc4a7f3b642954ec4b2.jpg

    • Howdy! New to the forum of course! My name is Casey, just picked up a 2024 high country midnight edition. First “new” truck in 24 years for me. Driving a 1998 Z71 since 2002. Have been on the GMT400 forum with lots of good info and help there. Nervous about driving these newer trucks and all their electronics…. Did a lot of work on the Z71 myself over the years. New truck is definitely a nice upgrade after 24 years. Photo of the old and new, still keeping the Z71 - has 320,000 miles on her and still running well!
    • We did 250 on our tractors until we switched to Amsoil. We doubled after that.
    • When I was there, most to all did not have an hour meter. They just did 5000 miles on regular vehicles and 3000 on police stuff. The modern oil change monitors should take into account engine hours, weather, etc. I don`t use the monitor on my stuff. I pull the stick, look at it, smell it, rub it between my fingers, etc. That`s my oci.   I have had many engines. Some bracket race. No problems doing things my way. I was in the mechanic business for 30 yrs or so. I still do things the old school way. Don`t care who laughs at me.   Understand, I was in the main shop. We didn`t do oil changes or tires. We had a service station for that. I don`t remember the hours they used for tractors, lawn mowers, etc. Something in my head says 250 hours.
    • I don't know how far back vehicles had hour meters, be it driver accessible or diag accessible but was wondering if there was any rule of thumb your shop came up with in regards to an hour limit on engine oil regardless of the miles on the oil.    I know with construction or farm equipment its almost always based on engine hours for maintenance scheduling as no other metric really applies other than a seasonal time limit that one self imposes on items like engine oil.
    • I'm not sure what to say on that mess but I will say that is an odd thing for that mechanic to speculate on as per assuming its been run out of oil a few times as the odds of that engine having instead piled up with a complete seizure would be very high if such events had actually taken place. However there is nothing saying that the oil has ever been changed although once again, what filter was on that engine as that would tell part of the story if its possible to figure out if its a factory installed filter or not. Too many items unknown and a lot of speculation, but regardless of that its one fubared mess that is mind boggling to see for a vehicle that new and its hard to imagine how it ever made it that far in life looking at the top of the engine.    His scanners, I've watched him before here and there and I'd have to say if I recall correctly that some of his scanning equipment is one or two steps up from a child's Exo Sketch 😋
