Hey guys, new poster, so go easy on me. 😛

I've got a 2020 Silverado 1500 RST, 5.3L V8 Shortbox. I pull a single car hauler once or twice a month. She squats pretty bad when loaded.

I was reading some about putting in a couple rear blocks. I don't want to lift the thing to the moon, but I'd like to help level it out when I've got the trailer loaded. Is that the best route to take? If so, what size blocks would be best? Do I need a suspension leveling kit in addition to the blocks? What would you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Rear block easy solution but when not hauling or towing the rear will sit higher than normal than front. Depends whether you are ok with that look or not.

Extra leaf in back should support towing better than block but might ride rougher than current setting. Rear will be higher than front just like the block.

You might search or google Airbags, Timbrens or SumoSpring and see if that might solve your need without lifting the truck

I put airlift 5000 on my 4" ready lift 1500. Fixes the squat when I haul my toy hauler with about 50lbs in it. Rides better when I have a load, and i just delete to about 5lbs when I am without trailer and rides like stock.

Do you have a weight distribution hitch?  If properly set up, it will reduce squat while also shifting weight to the front axle which helps a lot when towing.  I'd go that route first.

Though rear blocks would give you the leveled look when towing, there are only two options that I would actually consider:

1. A weight distribution hitch will greatly affect the drivability characteristics when towing and make the haul much safer than adding blocks to the rear.

2. Airbag suspension, like mentioned above, can be non-intrusive when not towing, while also being able to dramatically enhance roadway manners when towing heavier loads.

Don't misunderstand me, a rear block will make it look level, but other options out there have significantly more advantages.  The only caveat is the price point, and neither of the two options listed above are as cheap as rear blocks.

I would definitely invest in a good weight distribution hitch and adjust from there. You may be surprised what a good WD hitch will do for you. Moving the vehicle back a little bit may help as well to relieve some of the tongue weight too if it is tongue heavy.
