Is it ok to lower the top part of the tailgate to haul something long like a pole saw? I have seen numerous pictures of the tailgate in different configurations but have never seen one with the gate up and just the top part folded down.

Thanks

I’ve done it and I feel like I’ve seen it advertised as one of the seven configurations it offers.  Pole saw is pretty light, too I’d think so would be just fine

I've seen it advertised that way and have used mine more than once to haul stuff with no issues.

I've hauled a couple sheets of drywall and plywood on different occasions and it's worked just fine.

With the hard tonneau, it really ties it in pretty well.

I have the CC with the short box. I picked up a bunch of stuff at Lowes on Sunday -left the soft cover closed and the "small gate" open to let the 2x4x8''s stick out.

Another thing they show that position used for is a stand-up desk /worksurface at a worksite.

Admittedly it's not a big area, but for some tasks it could be better than using the full tailgate.

You'll be fine.

I think the only position you don't want while driving is having the whole thing down with the top half then opened down. (Especially with a hitch in place!)

Ps. No dumb questions, but stick around and you'll get a dumb answer eventually!
