I bought and installed the AE30 Harness for my 2021 GMC 1500 5.3 SLT.  It does swap the start/stop to disabled as intended.  Does anyone else get a light shudder when stopping?  It seems to me the shudder started after installing it.

Thanks

I have the same harness and glad to have it. This has happened to me exactly one time in 4K miles. I read up on it and there is a link between having the autostop off and the stutter. I ran it a few times with autostart on and then put it back to off. Hasn’t happened again. Yet.

I have had the rough shift problem since about 500 miles. It lasts for about 3 days and goes away for a few weeks and then comes back for another 2 or 3 days. I installed the Auto-stop eliminator at about 2500 miles, it has made no difference in the transmission problem. I now have about 4000 miles.  Unfortunately your rough shift into low will probably come back, like mine is continuing to do.

Is the ASE module causing the rough shifts or is this an existing condition before installation?

Looking to get an ASE for my 21 Sierra, but holding off until I get more info on this.

Is there a way to know if an autostop disable harness is installed without pulling all the trim off?  I bought a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado and the autostop doesn't work so after seeing this post just curious before I take it to the dealer.

I have one in my truck. The auto stop eliminator just remembers the switch position. If you turn it off it will stay that way until you turn it on again. If you can use the dash switch to change from on to off you probably have the ASE. If your switch doesn't change anything you have some other device to turn it off.

I know it cost more but I have had good luck with the Range Autostop eliminator with no issues with over a years use. I didn't want to pull all the trim off. The Range is just a plug and play unit.

Sailor, there is also a long list of things that prevent auto stoop/start from stopping.

Any of these apply with your ride?

Auto Stops may not occur and/or Auto Starts may occur because:
. The climate control settings require the engine to be running to cool or heat the vehicle interior.
. The vehicle battery charge is low.
. The vehicle battery has recently been disconnected.
. Minimum vehicle speed has not been reached since the last Auto Stop.
. The accelerator pedal is pressed.
. The engine or transmission is not at the required operating temperature.
. The outside temperature is not in the required operating range.
. The vehicle is in any gear other than D (Drive).
. Tow/Haul Mode or other driver modes have been selected.
. The vehicle is on a steep hill or grade.
. The driver door has been opened or the driver seat belt has been unbuckled.
. The hood has been opened.

. The Auto Stop has reached the maximum allowed time.

I have tried to get it to come on with every option in the truck turned off, i.e. radio, A/C, seat fans/heaters, lights off, etc.  I have an apt with the dealer in ten minutes so they can figure it out.  Only 20k miles on this truck but I am the second owner so will see what's up.  I will say that I reached out to TRL Automotive who was reference above with their auto stop eliminator and they were VERY quick to respond and helpful.  I get the disdain for the auto stop but would like to ensure that there isn't something else going on like a weak battery.

that's interesting.  If the truck is smart enough to know that the battery is weak and not enable ASS, it should give you an alert to tell you that the battery is weak.
