DRIVER ASSIST MESSAGE

I AM GETTING A SERVICE DRIVER ASSIST MESSAGE AND AT TIMES MY STEERING IS HARD AND LIGHTS DULL AT LOW SPEED MANEAUVERS. i THINK ITS MY STEERING MOTOR ASSIST. ANYONE HAD THIS HAPPEN AND HOW MUCH DID IT COST TO REPAIR. IT'S NOT THE ALTERNATOR HAD THAT CHECKED ALLREADY.

It could be the famous loose ground wires in dash board

Not sure about the steering issue, but this is usally the problem when you get the Service Driver Assist message:

Interesting.  Maybe in his configuration he can turn on the audible beep rather than the seat detection?  IF, and a big IF the seat motor is the issue, I wonder if the error would disappear if the seat motors were not set to be used for driver assist.

Personally I leave mine off, I prefer the beep (but my passengers do not.)

Search these forums for "G218 ground" and "PIT5405".  They will show you how to check some grounds that are known to cause problems.
