I honestly am not sure if it's full or semi synthetic.  What do dealers put in by default lol?  I'll have to pull up a receipt or check when I go in the next month or so.  I only go once a year for the last 2 years since I work from home and only drive it on nice weekends now LOL

·        Uses an engine test for turbocharger oxidation & deposit protection

Rollout:

Throughout the months of January and February, CCA will be selling both previous and new specification as the supply chain of oil is populated with the new specification.

Bulk Tank:

The new product formulation is backward compatible for 0W20 dexos1 applications. The target comingling rate of prior generation product to new is 10%. However, during the transition we also want to ensure that Dealers don't run out of oil as they near empty.

Product Mix is Not Changing

CCA will continue to offer Conventional motor oils and certain Mobil branded products such as Mobil 1 and Mobil Delvac.

* Please note this is a rolling change. The oil distributors will be selling down current inventory and replacing it with the Second Generation 0W20 dexos1."

I wonder if the person’s who can’t trust the youngsters to oil changes at the dealership. Eat at fast food restaurants?

I definitely don't customize my order, lol.

$20 is what places around here charge if you bring your own oil.  A few were at $15 but they upped their price.  Still not bad if you want to use AMSOIL.

I used to pay $15.95 for a four-quart oil change in 1990. Had an Audi 4000S at that time, one oil change place refused to touch it because their insurance policy had it on the list of three cars for them to never touch.. Audi 4000S, and the other two were something like a Maserati Bi-Turbo and Ferrari. He even showed me the paper with the three cars on the list.

A bit overkill, but...

...10qts of Royal Purple from Walmart = $80

...Mobil 1 Oil filter = $18

...20 minutes of crab walking on my back = Priceless

I have the 5.3L.  I finished with my two free services from the dealer and had to pay for an oil change and tire rotation yesterday.  I think I paid top end but was wondering what you all are paying.  FWIW, no, I’m not going to do it myself.  I don’t care about how easy it is or why you doi it, I’m not going to do my own oil changes.

I paid $125 for a full synthetic oil change includes filter (obviously) and tire rotation.  The oil change was $100 and the tire rotation was $25.  I think I paid too much for the oil change and I think they were light on the rotation.  In total, I think I paid a little bit too much.  However, the service center was very professional and I liked dealing with them.  If I can convince myself I’m not getting completely hosed, I’ll stay with them.  If they’re more than $20 too high, I’ll probably look elsewhere.

Thanks.

The shops in my area charge anywhere form $120- $170 just for an 8qt oil change....Which is why I do it myself and it cost about $50. Tire rotations are $50-$80....another rip off.

Wow.  Makes me feel like I got a deal.

The thing that cracked me up is that the place I went to was very much like a dealer and they gave me a list of upcoming maintenance items to consider (no hard sell, just a list).  On it was the cabin air filter - $92.  Talk about LOL.  I changed mine yesterday for about $20.

That's why I try to do what I can myself. Also I know that it was actually done, and done properly.
