Denali Ultimate - 3.0 Babymax

Had it about 2 weeks now. The shipping time was so painfully long. Love it so far though and the mileage is awesome.

Awesome!  I didn't know you could get the baby D Max without the towing mirrors, good to know!

The tow mirrors are a pretty rare option on the 1/2 tons, 3.0 or not. The vast majority of 3.0 trucks do not have the tow mirrors. The 3.0 isn't a tow engine like the 6.6. It is built for fuel economy. Most 3.0 trucks only have a 8,500-9,000# towing capacity.

Found a refreshed HC about 4 hours from home on a dealers lot and had it purchased and back home within 24 hours. Not easy to find, this one is pretty much loaded. Didn’t really want white but it’s growing on me!

Sharp looking truck.

I've noticed that there are not a lot of them on the road in my travels.

The only thing I don't like on the HC refresh is the wheels. I like the pre-refresh HC wheels a lot better.

Did you add the body side moldings? If so have a link?

Nice looking truck, I bet you paid a pretty penny for that thing with all the options, sitting on a lot available. I wish I had ordered a white one, although Dark Ash is growing on me.

I dislike the wheels as well, both the premium 22s you have and standard 20s I have. The 20s on mine are nice wheels but they don’t really match the high country and I wasn’t about to pay a premium for the 22s that I didn’t like. I’ll change them out eventually, keeping my eye out for a used set of pre refresh HC wheels.

I like your wheels better than the 20's on my refresh LTZ. The refresh LTZ's got a painted silver wheel instead of the polished wheels the pre-refreshed LTZ's got. I'm trying to find a set of the pre-refresh LTZ wheels for mine, but refuse to pay $1200-1500 for wheels alone (and I don't need tires with 4,052 miles). However, if I can find a set with tires for less than $750 I'll have them and have a set of winter wheels/tires.

That’s a great color though! I like the previous years 22s as well. Though most dealer’s were only giving the preferred vendor discount (same as employee pricing I was told), I gave it a try and send I wasn’t paying sticker but I think we could make it work with the discount (over $7k). Got excellent trade in value as well so that helped but it still wasn’t cheap of course. They are nice trucks though and drive incredibly smooth.

22 Sierra AT4X in Onyx Black, shoed in 295/70R18s on the stock wheels; otherwise, the vehicle is straight from the factory.

Looks good! Any rubbing with the 295/70r18s? Full lock ok? Looks really close to the back of the front wheel well.

6sigma, I have not had any rubbing at full lock or on any rolling turns (incline or otherwise), nor have I run into any issues with the UCA. I have attached some additional photos of the front tire, so you can see the clearance a bit more clearly. Hope these are helpful.

those are chunky tires , they must be noisy as hell driving down the road.

FJB,

Believe it or not, they aren't that bad. They are a bit louder than the stock Goodyear mud tires, but not significantly so. With the window down, the drone of the tire is louder; however, with the windows up at highway speed: it's really not bad. The truck is pretty well insulted. I've had mud tires in the past, on other vehicles, that are so loud you can't hear yourself think, but that probably had more to do with the lack of noise insulation between the tires and my ears. As for the effect on steering control and acceleration, you can feel the lugs of the tires upon initial acceleration and when the truck is slowing to a stop through the steering wheel, but it appears to affect neither the control of the vehicle nor the acceleration to any significant degree.
