Currently have a 2015 Sierra 1500 with 2.5” level. I am running toyo open country 275/65r20 that need replaced. They were 34.1” per their website and had slight rub at full turn and in reverse.

is anyone running the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/t 275/65r20? Website shows 34.5” and afraid with aggressive sidewall and larger tire it’ll rub to much. Going down to a 275/60 would put me in 33” range but trying to stay in 34s

I don't run those tires but I can tell you from being in the tire business for the last 12+ years, if that other tire is larger it's going to rub even worse than it already does.

Those 275/65 from MT are also only a Load Range E tire, that's a heavy ass tire for a half ton truck.

I realize bigger means rubbing more but I also don’t know how accurate the height is. Different websites have different heights listed. I’m running an E rating now due to frequent cross country moves. I don’t haul enough to need a 2500 but have moved 4 times in 5 years due to military

I always run LR E tires on my 1500s, for their puncture resistance while off and on road.   As for weight, Mickey/Cooper tires are among the heaviest on the market in their respective sizes in any load range.

I was going to buy the Mickey Baja Boss A/T in a 37x12.50R17 for my Jeep, but the guys that have bought them have had to put a lot of weight on to balance them.  As much as I am a Mickey/Cooper fan, the excessive weight to balance turned me off. I'm going with a bit tamer Maxxis Razr A/T on the Jeep.

Thanks for info. I might stick with open country a/t III. I need to look at weights of tires more

I had a few sets of the earlier OC A/Ts.  They were decent tires.  The old type were not great in the wet.  Hopefully they fixed that in the II and III.  Toyos are also among the heaviest, as well as their sister company, Nitto.

If you want to read about the Mickey BB A/T experiences, go over to the JLWrangler forums   https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/  and use their search engine.

I really wanted to get them and love the tread aggressive pattern for a A/T.  But the stuff I read was just enough to move along.

Here's the Maxxis Razr A/T video that convinced me
