So I am redoing my dual exhaust setup on my 06 Silverado due to the pipes keep breaking in the same spot. The truck is lowered and I want to go lower with it. The way the duals run now would have to be redone when i do my c notch anyways. What is the harm in cutting a hole in the frame and reinforcing that area with some plates and running the exhaust through the frame out the side

I can't tell from the pic wether it's a2500 with a 12" frame or a !500 with the small frame but either way you should be ok if you weld a plate over where you are going to cut the hole. Stay away from the fuel and brake lines and you may have to fashion a flex pipe to keep the rattling to a minimum

it is a 1500. I plan on laying it out on frame so figured while its apart now would be the time to do it

Why not just dump it before the axle?  Or put a hole in the passenger box side just ahead of the wheels and run it through there with a nice bezel around the tips?
