pete harlock Posted January 8, 2023 Author Posted January 8, 2023 sorry...should have specified 2022... 1
CamGTP Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Many of us have, this body style has been the same since 2019. They handle 5,000-6,000lbs just fine. 2

Under the new grill and the new dash it’s the same truck as far as towing is concerned. The towing app in the infotainment system is different but I don’t think that’s what you’re asking about. Exactly what feedback are you looking for? 1
Denali_1500 Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 I went on a 2300 mile round trip in my 6.2L 2022 refresh. 4500 lb car on a tandem axle aluminum trailer. Pulled like a boss. 85MPH no issues up hill and down hill. 1
DiverRick Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 (edited) I tow 6000 with my 19, 5.3L all the time. No issues whatsoever. I use a heavy duty weight distributing hitch also. Truck rated for 19,200 and 6000 travel trailer is nothing to it! Edited January 8, 2023 by DiverRick 1
Phantom 4D Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 I don't think there's much difference either. Except most 2019s have the sucky eight speed transmission. How is your truck set up? Max tow package, standard tow? Engine size. Six thousand pounds is not much. But then, you have to consider what is loaded on that trailer and total weight. Don't forget, the tow rating in the manual means total weight. I have a 2019 Sierra SLT, 5.3, eight speed. I tow a 20'enclosed trailer with two 1000# motorcycles, plus luggage, two people, and other stuff. I've pulled it through mountains and had no problems. That is except fuel mileage, 11 mpg with that load. 1
pete harlock Posted January 8, 2023 Author Posted January 8, 2023 sorry...should have specified 2022... i have the 2022 RST, 3.0 diesel, max tow package, 3.73 rear end and all this is cleared to haul 13000 lbs... unfortunately, when hooked up to my new travel trailer, a Service Trailer Brake message is displayed in the DIC...GM says the cause is unknown and they are working on it...so much for going south for the winter.... 1

Common problem, there is another thread about it, looks like a new switch has just been released (in the las few weeks) that fixes it. 1

Same issue here with a refreshed TB 5.3, very frustrating, but glad to hear of a possible fix. 6 hours ago, asilverblazer said: Common problem, there is another thread about it, looks like a new switch has just been released (in the las few weeks) that fixes it. 1
