Well, I haven't driven my new truck much but when I have I have encountered a problem while trying to talk on the phone. Trucks is a 2023 Denali Ultimate. When talking to someone the other person constantly hears themselves in a echo chamber. I have confirmed it is on my side as it has happened a couple of times to different people on different numbers and if I move the call from the truck to the actual phone (iPhone 13 plus on 16.4.1) the issue immediately goes away. I have tried turning off Car Play and using the trucks built in Bluetooth system and it's the same no matter which way I connect via Bluetooth or car play. Any ideas?

Your phone's mic is still active, so the echo chamber is being caused by your voice being picked up by the truck's mic and your phone's mic, then sending both to the recipient.  I only use Bluetooth in my truck.  I hate the carplay/android auto stuff.  Perhaps you could avoid the echo chamber by only using carplay and not stack on bluetooth?

Thanks for the reply. I tried it both ways, I used carplay, then I totally turned off carplay and used the vehicles system to make a call, same issue. I didn't have these issues with my 2019 High Country. I tried to figure out the both microphone issue and can't find anything on my iPhone to turn off for microphones. BUT.... I have always kept my phone in the cup holder, today I put it on the charging pad and there was no Echo on the other side, odd.

I don't think that's odd.  The cup holder could've been causing the echo.  Take any cup in your kitchen and talk directly into it with the cup close to your mouth.  Listen to the sound it makes.  It'll hopefully make sense to you when you hear it.  Btw, aside from the wireless charging benefit of sitting the phone on the charging pad, it'll also help keep you phone battery cool.  There's a small AC duct that runs from the right side of your radio to under the charging pad where it ends and cool air exits to keep the charging pad and your phone cool.  It'll help with the life of your phone's battery.

I get it, but I kept my phone in the cup holder most times with my 2019 High Country. I also keep in the cup holder in my Corvette and Wrangler and do not have this issue.

I'm out of ideas.  Just tried to help.  Are you able to check if this is a problem with Android phones?

I appreciate the ideas, and no, I do not know anybody with an Android phone. But with that being said it hasn't happened the last few times I've been on the phone and I even tried it in the cupholder. Odd!

The only time I've experienced this problem is when my wife calls me in her 2017 Traverse.  It's the last model year of the 1st generation, so it's top end tech is miles away from our truck.  Even though she's able to connect her phone to the radio, when she calls me on speaker phone I hear the echo and insist she take me off speaker phone.  Plus, It's not unusual for me to say things inappropriate that she wouldn't want other passengers to hear (such as our kids or coworkers).  I swear a lot and talk dirty.  The only thing missing is the alcohol, lol.  But this what lead me to my initial reply about your phone's microphone being on.  Maybe the government was listening in on you when your call started, lol?

Does anyone have an answer for this? My boss got a new 2023 GMC Sierra and it would happen occasionally when I would call him. I couldn't carry on a conversation with him because of hearing myself. It was extremely irritating. Well, now I have his truck and people are telling me that it occasionally does that to them. It doesn't happen all of the time. He used an iPhone, I use an android. I never had this happen in my 2016 or 2014 Sierra, except for when I was talking to my boss in this particular 2023 Sierra. I don't keep my phone in the cup holder.

I have a 2024 they have replaced the microphone above driver it was back but the phone charging caddy is a whole new issue. The charger will work if your parked and get to set just right, but start driving and it drops charging every time and that's without a case on my iphone13. Dealer has looked at it 3 times but it works just fine with the gm tester which everyone knows it will work. They had the damn thing built to match the charger.

I am currently in 'testing phase' to see if this is related... Feel free to try for yourself as well.

When the truck has been sitting overnight, and I start it for the first time, it seems to have to go through a number of steps for everything to fully "boot up" and determine what the Guest profile settings are and then apply my default driver profile settings on top. If I put my phone onto the charging pad before I start the truck at this point, I will commonly get the charging issue 3-4 times before it will finally go away.

If I have driven somewhere and park the truck for a short bit (like going into a store to shop), I do not see to have this charging issue when re-starting the truck. I am wondering if this is another poor programming design in the Infotainment system where the truck doesn't understand how to make things work correctly from a cold start.

Glad we aren't the only one with the issue. After I seen someone post on another thread I start IPhones are the phones having the issues with the charge cradle. I have had issues with many things on this truck sense we picked it up.

I read through the thread but didn't see a solution anywhere.  Have you figured out how to get it to stop?  I have the exact same truck.
