Hey all!  I swear someone linked a much more resilient cover/FOB than the OEM one but no matter how I search I can't find it.

Anyone else had this happen, if so, what did you go with?

Thanks!

From what I read the dealer has to program it even if you can find one.  They got me for $150 for a new one programmed at the local dealer.  If yours still works you can take the board out and put it into a FOB that does not but has a good case.

One of mine went tango uniform. Bought a new one from the dealer, programmed it myself. Swapped the key with the new fob. Works good. There is a section in the owners manual explaining how to program the fobs. Takes about 30 minutes.

I should have clarified, I apologize.  My fob actually works still, all the rubber/the panic button is coming or has come off.  I really only need the shell, but...finding just the shell is hard.

You can program them on your own, it just takes about 20-30 minutes if i remember right. I lost one and got a new GM replacement from Amazon and did it myself. There are videos on YouTube and instructions online that show how to do it. The dealer has to recut the physical key inside the fob and that was like $20.

Did you read my thread above? Mine was similar to yours falling apart, I put these covers on and work great. https://www.amazon.com/INFIPAR-Compatible-Chevrolet-Silverado-Protector/dp/B08BNNZTZ4/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2ZQTYE1QJF1MU&keywords=Silicone+Black+Remote+Rubber+Fob+Key+Cover+Case+Protector+fit+2021+2020+2019+Chevrolet+Chevy+Silverado+GMC+Sierra+1500+2500+HD+3500+HD%2C+Remote+Truck&qid=1688231896&s=automotive&sprefix=silicone+black+remote+rubber+fob+key+cover+case+protector+fit+2021+2020+2019+chevrolet+chevy+silverado+gmc+sierra+1500+2500+hd+3500+hd%2C+remote+truck%2Cautomotive%2C93&sr=1-1

I did, sorry, I should have said that.  I actually ordered those immediately, but when I put it on, it pulled the emergency button completely off, and now I can't get it to stay in place when I put it on.  A dab of glue might work, but without that flap/button on there, it doesn't register I'm pressing it with the cover on.

I just found a YouTube clip that shows a guy programming a Cadillac FOB.  Dealer told me that it has to be done thru the OBD port.  They got another $150.00 from me.  Got to love it.

You can order a new case for them. It just snaps open like to change the battery. Remove the guts and transfer them to the new case. I ordered a new case from ebay and changed mine.

Yup, got one today!  It does not have the GMC logo on it, so thought I could use new front and old back, but it didn't line up quite perfectly unfortunately, but, it does work perfectly.
