Five times maybe I've flown. All before 9/11. Wife flies for business and I'm her chauffeur and schlep. I see enough and hear enough crazy to stay away and I wish she wouldn't. Lately she's been renting a vehicle and driving. Think she's had enough as well. Before 9/11 I enjoyed it. Just didn't have much need for it. You can get me in a glider or a biplane, however. Open cockpit is some serious fun.

Use to fly for work all over the world, mostly Europe and Asia. Since I retired 9 years ago, I have not been on a plane and have no plans to, even though it would be free with all my built up points. It seems that some people enjoy getting their luggage lost or missing connections just to get a few rays of sun or visit somewhere exotic. Been there done that not going back!!! We all need to get over all this flying around the globe for fun.

I can’t explain it. There’s more people driving too. I used to go on lots of cruises. It was unique. Now it’s herding cattle. I don’t mind spending more for an experience. I don’t want to feel like I’m being crammed or herded. That’s why I go to casinos. I’ve found a few that still sell an experience. And there’s a couple of card games you can play. That you basically cover your room, meal and adult beverages for play. Another words I get my room, food, beverages for free. I spend my savings on play. Sometimes I win. A lot cheaper than having a boat, collector cars and amateur drag racing.

Whoa I feel targeted...

Boat - ✔

Cars - ✔

Amateur drag racing  - ✔

Even gambling - ✔

Wife prefers playing some cards for date night over an overpriced overdone steak and $10 drinks, plus we have a chance to win date money back

My flying days are over for a variety of reasons not discussible in polite company.

I don't blame you a bit.  It wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if I never stepped foot onto a plane again.
