First time post from a new Chevy HD owner and I need the brain trust to help me out if y'all don't mind. I have a new 2024 Silverado 2500 HD LTZ 6.6L DMAX that I bought in July. It has abut 2500 miles on it and runs great. The only issue I found was when I hit dirt roads. The driver mirror is fairly loose, by loose I mean it bounces a little and makes quite a bit of noise when I hit washboards or potholes. I noticed the Passenger side mirror seems to be much tighter and doesn't rattle/bounce. I don't frequent dirt roads a lot except when I hunt or camp, so its not going to drive me nuts every day. However, is there a way to tighten the mirror at the fold point? Should I even bother taking the plastic shell off (or is it even possible?). Thanks for any information.

Thanks Gayle...I did try that (a little field troubleshooting) when I was on the road and it did dramatically reduce the amount of vibration from the mirror. But at the same time it wasn't a cure all as the rattle was still present (albeit less noticeable). Again, I'm only on dirt roads a few times a year so its not going to kill me (as long as the mirror doesn't fall off).

Hey Dave,

I was scrolling through the posts. I had the same thing going on with my drivers side mirror. I took it into the local dealership and had them submit to manufacturer warranty and it was approved. I go in on Monday to get a new mirror put on.

I have manual folding mirrors on my 2500 Custom. The driver one would bounce around and rattle over almost every bump. I compared it to the passenger side and it was night and day different. I mentioned it to the dealer and they said it was normal. Definitely wasn't imo. I left it til the next dealer visit. I took the service tech out and demonstrated. When I pulled on the mirror it flexed a lot. When I let go, it literally acted like one of those spring door stops that kids play with - "booooiiinnnnggggg". He agreed it was excessive. They ended up replacing it under warranty. New one works great.

For what it is worth, I have the same issue on my 2024 Silverado 2500 HD.  Driver side is the only one that is loose.  I took back to dealership and they are replacing the mirror on the driver side.  No clue why it can't just be tightened down but what they do is take a video of it, then send it to Chevy Engineers at home office where they review it for approved repairs/replacement. Just heard back they are replacing.  SO, moral of the story is to take that bad boy back do the dealer and let them fix it or replace it.  I wouldn't touch it yourself as they will use that as a reason to void the warranty on the mirrors and those have a lot of moving parts in them.

Had my Driver's side mirror on my '24 3500HD replaced under warranty at around 7500 miles and that noise went away.

I wonder if this is the noise I am hearing on my 24 AT4. Will have to check it out before it goes to dealer on Friday for other noises. Did the mirror wobble alot that it was very noticeable?

I seem to have the same problem.  The mirror is loose at the hinge.  If you move the end up and down you can see the wobble.  Very noticeable on washboard.  Guess I have a trip to the dealer in my future.

Have the same issue on my 22 Denali 3500, dealer replaced both mirrors under warranty, that lasted about a month or two and same issue again. Now out of warranty and I guess living with it. I have no idea with GM went away from a double sheer pivot like the prior years that just worked, Poor Engineering.

Has anyone had any luck getting this issue fixed?   The video I posted was the 3rd set of mirrors installed on my 2023.  It is currently at the dealership again for replacement but I don't have faith it will be fixed.
