All I can say is good luck and be happy if you can still drive your vehicle. I bought a brand new '24 Sierra Denali 6.2 in February. Engine light came on April 5th. Total engine failure at 1400 miles. They got a new engine in a week. GM required the radiator be replaced at the same time though and they didn't know how long until they would get one. It's now the middle of June and the dealer says GM SPAC says they have the part but for some reason can't get a delivery date on it. Yeah, they gave me a loaner but I'm sick of paying on a luxury truck that I have driven for less miles than I have on their base Sierra loaner. This is just bad customer service all around.

We are sorry to hear you are experiencing these challenges with your engine and would like to investigate further for you. Please send us an email to [email protected]. 2023 Sierra 1500 5.3......Service Transmission Soon when shifting into reverse or neutral, on the way to dealership stopped to pick up something SERVICE TRANSMISSION NOW, Will Not Shift Soon.

Dealership tech says that it is the shifter assembly and that it is not currently available, looking at weeks to months so they say.  😞  Had to cancel a camping trip this weekend and now what else is going to be cancelled.

I am in a rental ( dealer provided ) but not the same.

Will wait a week until I push the panic button.

I have been waiting on a transmission valve body for a month now. No idea when to expect it. Multiple people waiting for the same part at the same dealership they say. Have had to cancel or change plans since I have a loaner vehicle.

I have a 2018 chev silverado. Dealer was doing some unrelated warranty work on it. Removed then improperly re installed my serpentine belt and it blew up on me on the way home. Haven't had my truck in 60 days because there are none to he found anywhere on the planet. GM reached out to the company that makes the belts and they have a list of 40 other people all waiting for the same 4 rib belt. The company is located in eastern Europe and none of us have any idea when they will be built let alone shipped.

Only had the truck for 5 months. Asked the dealership if they'd buy it back and they said the best they could do is 8 grand less than I paid for it.... Sweet.

Sounds like a phone call to Chevy Customer Service and your local Attorney General's office are in order. Then find an attorney.

This doesn't sound right to me. Have you tried NAPA or Rock Auto or Gates or other aftermarket parts suppliers? You don't need a GM belt. Just a suitable replacement belt. There must be thousands of replacement belts for an 18 Silverado.

I agree. 2018 with 5.3l plenty on Rock Auto including ACDelco.

Hi my name is Michael and I am having this problem with my 2024 Chevy silverado 1500 Duramax, the stater was damaged and with only 3,870 miles, my car has been on the dealer since July 3rd, 2024, two months exactly today and part is on back order,

Not related to trucks, bought a new model Kawasaki side by side and a part for the plow I was just told will be here end of year. That's 6 months to get if it shows up.

We could get snow soon in the mountains of Colorado, end of September last year we got snow.

That seems insane for a starter.

In my mind manufacturers should be accountable  for providing parts in a timely manner. In my case, I have my truck setup for work with all the right accessories.  Not really wanting to drive a loaner without that.

The easiest way to hold them accountable is to stop buying from them. Hyundai or GM. I know given the refusal to replace the entire set of lifters on my first failure, and no subsequent failure, this will be my first and last GM product. I have never dealt with such incompetence when it comes to repair and doing things right the first time.

I’m paying $1000 a month for a Sierra Denali and can’t get it back from the shop because they can’t get a part for my bumper. They’re saying it could be months. At what point do I just stop paying the lease?

I purchased a used 2023 GMC Sierra 2500 4x4 in July of this year. 50,000 miles on it. I drove it for 5000 miles and then all of the sudden, it went into reduced power mode. Read the codes and hometown dealership informed me it needs a new automatic transmission valve body. This was in August 2024. They told me the part is on backorder with not eta. I was told to disconnect the negative leads on both batteries; wait about ten minutes; then reconnect to reset the computer. That worked the first 12 times. I checked today, the part remains on backorder and they have another vehicle needing the same part. It’s very frustrating trying to get to work when can only do 45 mph on major highway. And now it sounds and feels like the transmission and power tran is about to fall out. No offer for a rental or loaner. Come on GM get it together.
