GM to recall hd's for tailgate dropping...

Not sure if I mentioned this but before taking our 2024 2500 HD off the I had them run it for any problems that needed to be addressed according to the VIN  . It all came back good ! Truck was built in Oshawa March 13 2024

So they did the recall today. I don’t even know what they did the paperwork didn’t show exactly what was done. 
 

As for the rear leaf clunk he said we have to witness it. I said come over to the truck which was inside the dealership and I grabbed the rear top rail handle and shook the truck side to side creating a bunch of noise and I said you witnessed it. 
 

so now they ordered the parts to do that tsb Newdude referenced. 
 

hopefully that does the trick.

That means nothing. 
 

mechanical issues that could arise immediately after you drive off the lot won’t show up when you do a search on the computer. As far as this recall I don’t know what years are included but if yours is you will get a letter. 
 

mine probably would’ve never had a problem since I filled the holes immediately when I bought the truck but maybe the new switch is just better protected from water no idea.

The trucks go through a pretty rigorous set of tests before they are released to shipping. Every single system is checked and they are run on a set of rollers similar to a dyno. Anything out of parameters gets the truck kicked to repair. I know the dealer PDI has changed over the years, not sure how much is done other than checking that its the right color and the floormats are there
