Our 04 suburban has had the dash lights on (and window power etc) after removing the key and opening the door!

Replaced the ignition switch and lock cylinder, looked at ground wires on the frame, didn't redo any of them because we live in the NW; they didn't look rusty (but should I have anyway?)

The problem is intermittent, sometimes the dash lights will go out after the key is removed and door opened, but usually we have to disconnect the battery every time we park, we installed a knife switch a few months ago.

It also idles roughly and takes 3 or 4 seconds to start sometimes, I've always attributed this to the battery being recently reconnected and the computer having to relearn everything...

in recent days the dash lights have been going out properly, so we haven't had the battery disconnected in several days, and the car still runs badly and no engine codes.

Thanks very very much for any help!

The switch that controls this is also the actuator that locks the doors; at least it is on my Avalanche....
