Gas Station Posted Prices Don’t Match

Hey anyone else have this experience? First time for me.

 

Recently went to a gas station in Las Vegas, NV that had a low price posted on the sign for 87 octane. So I pulled in. When I went to pump the gas noticed the price on the pump was 10 cents higher than posted on the sign. So got mad and left.
 

Believe it or not pulled into a neighboring gas station and same thing, when I went to pump the gas, noticed the price was again 10 cents higher than the big sign out front. 

 

so I just paid it..

Bait and switch.  I believe that is illegal, report to the BBB.   Could be the station just got more fuel recently (hrs) and the attendant dropped the ball changing the sign.  Could be that only the manager is allowed to do that and he is in the back room sleeping?

Or, some gas stations have a cash vs credit card pricing. Cash is usually 10 cents cheaper. Some only post the cash price.

I've noticed stations are now posting price for E15 gas (88 octane) that is 10-15 cents cheaper per gallon than "normal" E10 gas (87 octane). Really have to be alert when selecting pump handle if you don't want to use the cheapest E15 fuel.

I think KARNUT got it right, here in the northeast it's common for stations to have lower prices for cash or customer loyalty programs, Speedway and others is cheaper for debit card purchases than cash or credit

Around here they do this and the lower price is with an added on car wash
